Confirmed: Nicky Ajose Signs 3 Year Deal

Good video.
Let's see.1 -
No guarantees with any signing, but I always ask myself - would Curbs or Powell have signed this lad? I think all three signings made so far would have fitted in with AC and CP's style of transfer dealings. For that reason I am hopeful they will be good buys.SDAddick said:
Eh, this is the first signing where I've thought "yes, good value, proven track record, right age."Leuth said:Are the Belgians.....playing a blinder this summer?
Not over yet, but this is all going nicely.
It seems the fan pressure has paid off - well, that and a few brain cells finally flickering on.
On the 2-3 ocassions I've seen Nowak, I've not really see him do much. Can't say I've seen Holmes beyond highlights, but a lower league journeyman at 29 didn't thrill me, though I'd love to be wrong on both counts.
Ajose has good pedigree, and at 24 is probably about to enter the prime of his career. Something I think we overlook with SCP's League One winning team is that a lot of those players were at or below 25. I'm not someone who overly laments SCP and his leaving, but I do think that team he put together was very good, and some of that was due to the age of players who'd been overlooked elsewhere.
Glad we've added attacking players. Could still desperately use a creative central player (a #10 or a creative central midfielder). For me, the battle is now about who we can keep. Igor and Sarr already off, expect Hendo will follow, as will JBG when he's back from the Euros. But if we could keep a decent chunk of the rest, make a couple additions, we'd have an incredibly strong squad.9 -
More than happy with the signings so far, need to see the rest of the team fill out now.0

There will likely be more out's than in's in the next couple of weeks.2

Good signing proven at this level.
I think another tick in the learning how to buy players box in that it is a three year deal.
Not five or one as often seems to have been the case under the regime.3 -

Help me out,who was that?shirty5 said:Former Crewe player who has a similar record to a player we signed from the Railwaymen 9 years ago. Hopefully he will be better than him and not a one season wonder.
Time will tell, but won't be getting excited until we see the full squad at the end of August.

Great stat, @LouisMend . No wonder you're a thrusting sports journalist and I'm sitting in an office not thrusting at all.LouisMend said:League goals last season - Ajose 24, Novak 14, Holmes 11 (Total 49).
Charlton - 40.8 -
Good signing I think but will need decent service - JBG is nearly nailed on to leave, Harriot is getting attention too, we've not had a properly creative midfielder since Andy Reid. If Holmes doesn't make the grade our star strikers won't be able to do much at this rate.2

Personally, I think that's a good way to look at maybe 50% of signings. I do still feel as though we have access to transfer targets (Kashi, Bauer, Tex, Igor, JBG) that we wouldn't have had under either AC or CP, and that we should embrace those. But I won't disagree that we need some players with a background in the British game, where Curbs and Powell were very strong.Exiled_Addick said:

Your posts were never boring mate0

His twenty five goals from last season looked great and some of them were stunning. Welcome Nicky arose.0

What I like best is his calmness when in one on one, something we haven't had since Darren Bent.2

Good to see he thrives in empty stadiums too11

Probably just as well; you could find yourself invited for a "casual chat" with HR.AshBurton said:

Poor mans Simon Church2

I imagine Swindon fans will be pissed off, losing Ajose to a team in the same division.
Was Charlie Austin the last decent goalscorer for Swindon at this level?0 -
Snapped his ankle leaving signing session out for three yrs7

Great news. Signing Ajose should persuade others to give us a chance.1

The one thing that you can't help noticing is his desire to get in the box and on the end of crosses.
All we've got to do now is to play a couple of wingers who can cross a ball.1 -
Charlton hasn't got a club doctor.nth london addick said:
