DIFC has it's own laws which are separate to the rest of Dubai. Outside DIFC a maximum of 6 hours per day can be worked during Ramadan, for both Muslims & non-Muslims. Inside DIFC, however, this only applies to fasting Muslims.lordromford said:
Hi @All_Thaid_Up Yeah, I'm in Dubai, living in Sports City. (Moving to Springs next week though)All_Thaid_Up said:
LR Are you in Dubai? Be good to find another addick here. I am based in DIFC but live in JBR.lordromford said:
Perfect timing in Dubai. 5.00 kick off and everyone knocks off about 2.00 for Ramadan.All_Thaid_Up said:Kick off is awful time for me as I will still be at work and because of Ramadan, I cant even slip for off for a beer and watch it.
And Friday is the weekend here.
And we've found a place with the much sought after early booze licence.
Happy days.
I assumed, from your moniker that you were in Thailand!
How come you're working until 6? Aren't all firms supposed to reduce hours this month?
Anyway, we're off to the Fanzone at Kickers in Sports City. Licence from 4pm. PM me if you fancy putting a face to a name.
I've heard Barasti is open and serving too, which might be handier for you?0 -
Well I never. You boys might need to tell your bosses you're a fasting muslim...Red_Pete in Dubai said:

You would think so.RodneyCharltonTrotta said:I cannot understand any offices in England or Wales today that are not allowing staff the requisite 2 hours to watch the biggest home nations game for 20 years.
A small gesture that would go along way in boosting morale surely.1 -
This is the saddest thread I've ever read.

Nice to see a few of us here (dubai). I have only been here about 1 month, but having worked in Kuwait before it makes a pleasant change.

My missus is allowed to show it to her Primary School kids, classy touch from the school.

I have found cover for one of my Welsh battlefield guides to watch the game in France. It's the non football watching peeps that are the most excited about it.

Last minute shift of policy... Am now watching the game with 50+ Swiss teacher-trainees
I am to attempt to treat it as a language learning exercise0 -
My chances of watching the match hinged on my shift taking place with a person who told me to f off last time I saw him (I'm a Support Worker). Delighted that he refused to open the door.0
