Slower episode but still enjoyable. Another one to build up to bigger things. Next weeks looks like there will be some Mountain violence. Got a feeling the guy right at the end is going to die pretty horrifcally!

Bella Ramsey as Lyanna Mormont- an absolutely incredible performance, totally badass

She was in the camp leading her 62 soldiers to battle so hopefully we'll see some more of her

just been thinking about this and she could be link we needed to unite John and Dany

This is how I'll end the series if they ask me to write it- possible spoilers follow if it turns out I can predict the future

Bella is Jorah's cousin. Jorah is searching the world for a cure for greyscale. Bella is hanging out with Davos who princess Shireen was recently telling about how she was cured of greyscale.

So Jorah meets up with Lyanna, gets the cure from Davos, Jorah goes back to Dany, Dany's lot and John's lot are now all friends and take over/save the world. The End

I think it's clear the greyjoys are going to be the link between Dany and Jon. I also liked how Jon was saying about lyanna and how he heard she was very beautiful... Another nod to r + l = j methinks

Never liked the storyline much (or the original character). And three series on it would just seem silly.

How would it work? Would she be raised several years later? In the books she was pretty messed up after spending a few days in a river.

    Hang on, is this her?

Hate these kind of links that confirm very little, but this could be an interesting way to work it:

Arya survives getting the Jon Snow treatment from that nasty little piece of work...

She uses the face of Catelyn to become Lady Stoneheart then starts merking peeps all over the place.

Linky to where I have adopted this idea from

Are there going to be any side affects for John Snow from being dead for a few days ? That's got to mess you up a bit ?

They haven't really focused on the Brotherhood Without Banners for a few seasons so it could be that she's been around a while, we just haven't seen her yet. I'd be happy enough for them to leave it out to be honest. Too many resurrections cheapens the effect of Jon's. There comes a point where you have so many people coming back you may as well end the show with zombie Hodor on the throne taking direction from the chatting head of Ned Stark

Too many resurrections being 3 so far?

Berric Dondarrion - Resurrected multiple times.
    Jon Snow - Resurrection confirmed

The Mountain - Don't see this one as a resurrection as he's more of a Frankenstein type than what he was before.

(Books add Catelyn to this list)
(The Hound was never dead which was painfully obvious when Arya left him and skipped off on her way, so can't be counted.)

Finally can anyone confirm the guy with the ship, was he the one that came to speak with Sandor's new clan (then mercilessly wiped them out?)

It was the brotherhood that killed the hounds new people. Ian mcshanes character fought for the freys and killed and raped people in the river run. It's not beric's style to slaughter an entire village's worth of people for no reason. Perhaps another person is leading the brotherhood, some one who's trademark is hanging and has nothing but hate and vengeance on their mind..

There's a theory going around that Arya is Waif and vice versa in a kind of Fight Club scenario.

That works for me, she is trying to kill off herself, Waif knows everything about her etc.

God knows how it fits in the wider story though.

He seems unsure of himself recently and genuinely anxious when meeting the minor houses in the north. Remember Hardhome? He wasn't particularly scared then and that was far more dangerous negotiations with people who really wanted to kill every crow they saw. I'd say he's terrified of dying now and has lost an element of bravery he once had. I think if and when they reveal stoneheart, it will be an episode when Jon is struggling with something he never had trouble with before that has affected him since he was resurrected. Just to show that you lose a lot of your old self when you're resurrected.

In terms of resurrection and rebirth it's been a major theme this season. Iirc every episode has one, EP 1 has Sansa reborn as a stark and with a backbone, EP 2 Jon brought back, Dany comes out of the flames as leader of the dhothraki, 3 eyed Raven is reborn within bran, benjen comes back, the hound comes back, Theon is back to being a greyjoy, Arya is back to being a stark, tommen is a born again zealout. I wouldn't be surprised if there was another one or two on the way

Good call, that'd be the likely way, although there would still be holes in that plan (she'd have been kicking her heels for several years). And if non-readers know nothing about Stoneheart, and next week the show picks up with the Brotherhood, and there she is, all croaky and psychotic... Not only is resurrection becoming a cliche, but it'd be very weird, even for this show!

I was thinking the same thing, but the Ship owner looked a lot like the gent in the tan cloak who warned the people of the terrors in the night.

It will be interesting to see what happens next... stick to the books or swerve wildly. As David Benioff said something along the lines of: Some things will be the same, sometimes the show will deviate in it's own way.

I think it will be a last episode cliff hanger reveal. There's 3 more episodes that can build up the brotherhood again and 3 major characters are in the riverrun. If it's gonna happen it will happen in episode 10.

    What guy with the ship?

Lem, Flynn and Morgan were the 3 from the brotherhood

Can't recall in the books that the Brotherhood would kill a load of people like that even if Stoneheart was leading them. Just seems a bit odd they'd slaughter a load of people given they were more into hanging Freys.

Another couple of minor gripes - has Dorne just disappeared off the map completely and are the ships/horses now turbo charged seeing how quickly people are managing to get around the place!

Yeah not having the Brotherhood did that slaughtering. 1. Doesn't fit in with them and 2. We didn't see it happen which is always suspicious.

As to who actually did it, not sure but wasn't Littlefinger heading that way from the Eyrie?

Or the brotherhood is under new management...

When the Lannisters were running rampant throughout the Riverlands murdering the smallfolk, that at least made some sense, since part of warfare is eliminating the smallholdings and supplies to the Lords. What purpose does murdering a bunch of penniless church builders serve? Unless it was just to punish the bloke for being cheeky to them?
