Replaced my also well loved admiral shirt, the one with the thin blue and red stripes down the arm. Bought from San Fernandos in Blackfen who had a great selection of football tops.0 -
Life's too short, wear whatever you want. Wear a full kit, dress up as batman, life is depressing as an adult, and getting to wear what you want is one of the few pleasures of being an adult.
The only thing I would ask is don't go up and try to collect a trophy in full kit, then you're a wanker.6 -
I wear a variety of old Charlton/England/Rangers shirts around the house when know I'm not going out, unless up the legion for a pint, not purchased or worn one to a game in living memory, if I ever did.
Although have just got the Retro 1982 England red away shirt to wear during the Euros1 -

Agree with this now days. Used to wear replica shirts as a kid, through my teens and early 20s and then started wearing designer polos etc having suffered the delusion of how you "should" and "shouldn't" dress at football which in itself is sadder than wearing a football top.AFKABartram said:Load of rubbish. As Leroy posted earlier in the thread designer labels etc are almost a replica shirt of another kind and I probably look more of a c*** in these at games than when I was rocking up in a lairy allsports number and not giving a toss.
Find it hilarious now seeing overweight middle aged blokes at games beer bellies straining at the seams of their "smart clobber" and groups of yoofs strutting round in £150 jumpers when it's evident they can't afford the most basic of dental work.
If you're secure enough in yourself who gives a monkeys what you wear to football. Luckily I have maintained my adonis-like physique as I approach middle age and therefore will look as equally dashing in a replica as normal clothes should I decide to wear them again to games.7 -
I've got loads up in my loft, most of them have never been warn. Mostly England or Charlton through the years. Pretty pointless really, but maybe worth money later in life, particularly signed one I guess (I'm sure loads of people will want to take one that has Paul Bacons autograph on)0

I always find it amusing when people start telling others how to dress, I think its been said on here many a time that people over a certain age (of which I certainly fall into)shouldn't wear Baseball caps, trainers, hoodies, cargo type tracksuit bottoms all of which I wear because it suits what I do and what I what to wear as a grown up. But what makes it almost laughable is being advised on my attire by a generation that can't put a cap on straight, pull up the jeans or do up their feckin laces.7

Noticed on the League 2 playoff final yesterday that a fella (middle aged) was sitting in the crowd wearing his Liverpool shirt!!
Now that I just don't get! It smacks of 'look at me, I'm only here for a day out and support the mighty Liverpool. I thought that I would grace your 'lowlinesses' with my presence though'.2 -

Not got a problem with people wearing replica shirts, i own a few, and even thou i would be classed as middle aged, only really wear them, on holiday, never wear them at games. do drawn the line at full kit (wankers), half & half scarves, and people wearing onesis to the match,0

My next door neighbor insists on wearing his ITFC (Tractor Boy) shirt most of the time, so what else can I do? Make sure I am wearing my Charlton shirt when ever he is around. Bye the way, we are both in our eighties.13

funnily enough i thought wearing a top (as a 40 year old back in 1997 would be a bit naff) however work colleagues bought me one as gift then and i wouldnt dream of wearing anything else now to a game
i still think its a bit naff to wear on any other occasion though
(and i certainly wouldnt wear one of those figure hugging shirts!)0
