Just had a little sob to myself in support of the lad and what this multi millionaire sportsman must of gone through...

What a knob - sadly the sort of reaction I'm expecting from Gudmundson though

Collymore tore him (alongside other Villa players) a new one on TalkSPORT tonight. Challenged him to call in and explain himself rather than hide behind Twitter.
  • Good drink tonight, lol.

    I hope he doesn't!

It's not real. He said the following:

"Now it's confirmed maybe it's a weight off the shoulders and we can give these fans what they deserve."

"At the back of our minds is next season to get promoted. I'm here for as long as Aston Villa want me."

which is almost as bad, but not quite.

    That's nowhere near as bad.

It's weird, until this season I always assumed Lescott was a decent player and a decent bloke

Sadly, this year he's been a failure on both fronts

Agreed, really nothing offensive at all in what was actually said.

What kind of weirdo fabricates a statement from a footballer like that?

I used to quite like Lescott .. but like a lot of people who come into money (lol) he's lost touch with reality .. or perhaps all that heading the ball has scrambled his brain .. I would wager that he'll be off to the US of A to enhance his pension

How well did you know him before he came in to money?

  • Collymore's comments:
"I would love Joleon, or any other Villa player, to call me up in all seriousness," Collymore said.
"I would like any Villa player - particularly Joleon Lescott - to come on and first explain the tweet [with the sports car after Liverpool defeat]. But, today, this is a senior international footballer: 'Now confirmed, maybe it's a weight off the shoulders.'
"Why's it a weight off the shoulders, Joleon? It should hang on your shoulders in Dubai, in 'Marbz', with a gold bottle with the ace of spades on it in the summer when you and Gabby [Agbonlahor] and Leandro [Bacuna] are all going to be laughing when your agents take you off to other football clubs.
"The Villa staff - it's a real weight on their shoulders. People who are getting made redundant, people who have been there for 20 years, who don't know where the next pay cheque might come from.
"You're a disgrace. You've hid behind players like [David] Silva and [Sergio] Aguero but when it mattered today with your hometown club - who you profess to support - you've helped them go down."

Not like the old days pros who could two foot someone round the neck then laugh it off with 28 pints and drive home.

    The blokes just a prick.
  • Its a shame with Lescott because I thought I read years ago that he's actually a Villa fan?

Collymore had a row with Lescott on Instagram direct messages where Lescott offered him out. Collymore screenshot red it an put it on Twitter and proceeded to Tweet "sorry, phone was in my pocket". Class!
