wow - so young.
top batsman too.0 -
Remember him scoring a century at Lords when his knees were so knackered he could hardly stand up. True guts there.
Cancer - you are such an utter bastard.0 -
Bloody hell not another one.

Quality batsman and a joy to watch. Cann't understand why he wasn't knighted along with other top NZ sportspeople like Richard Hadlee, Susan Devoy and hosts of rugby players. His abiding wish was to be around for the ODI World Cup in New Zealand last year and he lasted well past that milestone.

One of my cricketing heroes. Really saddened by this news. RIP you kiwi legend0

Arguably the best New Zealand batsman of all time.
Sutcliffe, Turner, Williamson are the only other contenders I can think of off the top of my head.

Totally agree with the first two (a little bit early to include Williamson imo)LenGlover said:Arguably the best New Zealand batsman of all time.

Is there an English batsman to compare? Colin Cowdrey comes to mind in the "masterclass batsman" category.0 -
Fantastic and very elegant batsman. Brings back memories of the first summer that I fell in love with cricket and New Zealand were touring. RIP0
