Club Official Website Ridiculous .... easy regime target
The club's official website content is badly maintained and full of fluffed up unprofessional dross. This is probably because they "released" backroom staff who knew what they were doing - much as they did with the playing staff.
For example - The January Poll on our beloved club's website home page (still) invites us rate how much we are looking forward to our "forthcoming FA Cup campaign" ... and this nearly two weeks after the campaign ended at Colchester .... useless ...embarrassing.
Let's expose site the and all its naff content, double-speak to massive ridicule in every type of media (Twitter and the rest), pass on the howlers to local and national rags and newspaper websites... whatever it takes. I reckon a kick in the media organs can be quite painful and will get noticed.

A rather roundabout way of asking us to change the poll, but we'll get right on that first thing!23

Be nice if they could get the Tex..... Stories consistent. One says 3.5 year contract and the other 4.5 years...which is it @Ollywozere ?0

The message from the club's facebook presence suggesting we "Pick up tickets" for the Bristol game. Is it a deliberate wind up to those bemoaning the ticket office being closed two days a week, or is it just stunning naivety?0
-
The website is poorly maintained and often littered with mistakes. I don't really bother with it anymore as most Charlton news is on here before it is on there.1

Somebody needs to continually DDOS the ticket site and website in general. They wouldn't have a clue2

It's basically how groups of hackers take down websites.0 -
Disappointed, thought this was gonna be a cyber attack suggestion.
Think someone may have floated the idea before. Obviously it's naughty & illegal but could you imagine if the official CAFC website/social media pages were hacked and were satirised into posting the truth a la the Charlton parody account on twitter?
Would be impossible for them to ignore.1 -
Unfortunately, we were given the wrong info. We were only told it was 4.5 after publishing. Should all be in line now.cafc-west said:Be nice if they could get the Tex..... Stories consistent. One says 3.5 year contract and the other 4.5 years...which is it @Ollywozere ?

Cheers @Ollywozere. See they both say 4.5 years now. One hell of a contract.Ollywozere said:

4.5 years for an unproven (in this league) 29-year-old is thoroughly absurd, no matter how highly Riga rates him.Ollywozere said:

I'd like to see KM ignore that!
Also imagine the press reaction, they'd have a lot to say about it and it would really help underline our message to the masses.1 -

He's respected and highly rated at Liege. We've been shipping goals at a ridiculous rate lately so have moved to stop it.

Four and a half years? Really? They wouldn't give Yann two years, but this guy gets four and a half. C'mon Swisdom, get real mate.Swisdom said:

Although I completely agree with that the flip side is that if he does turn out to good we will be able to command a decent fee if we sell him next summer, as unlikely as that might be. The wages are also important. If he isn't earning too much we don't need to worry about the four years five months he will have left once we realise he's not good enough and farm him off to Upjest on loan.Airman Brown said:

Indeed, he may be a good signing and Riga ought to know. It's unfortunate that he comes from Standard Liege presentationally in the light of Murray's comment and fair to note the inconsistency, I think, but it doesn't preclude him being a good player for us in our current situation.Swisdom said:

However, it is still extraordinary to give an untested (in Britain) player who will be 30 this year a four and a half year contract - and it comes from the same regime that gave Christophe Lepoint a two and a half year contract aged 30. He lasted five months, remember.8 -
Yann was 32 Jorge is 29, so 4.5 years is 1.5 years after his 32nd birthday. Defenders tend to mature and peak later than strikers, and usually retire later.Algarveaddick said:

I think Murray made the comment about 5 newcomers before Riga was appointed and if Tex is Riga's choice we should still see 2 more player coming in, although with Watt not going to Cardiff, I will not hold my breath. I do agree 4.5 year contract for him is over the top, (not that he will be here in 4.5 years), but look at the contracts given to many of our summer signings who cannot get in a struggling teamAirman Brown said:

Correct in age, but the risk of decline is also greater over four and a half years than two and a half and Yann had proven he coud play at this level, whereas Jorge hasn't.sam3110 said:

I suspect the contract length is to secure an overall value, e.g. if the player wanted £1m Charlton weren't willing to pay more than £250k a year.4 -
Also if we assume that he will not be able to secure as lucrative a deal at 32 there is a tax advantage in spreading the pay over four years rather than over two.Airman Brown said:

Yann was proven and successful in the Championship, we have no idea how this guy will perform. Airman's suggestion seems plausible. Lets hope that this one goes against the massive amount of evidence we have of previous incompetence in signing players.sam3110 said:
