Of course Charlton fans are all in this together but thought it is worth a mention what Rick did today. I don't know him personally but he was brilliant on talksport/BBC london sport not to mention initially starting the protest through VOTV. Long way to go but believe me this will be a fight we'll win.

Like you, I don't know him personally - nor have I met him in fact. It must be said though, I've got a lot of respect for Rick.
I know some of his views have been a bit of a "marmite" subject at times since his departure from the club, but his dedication and enthusiasm in not only producing the VOTV but also in organising fan action can't be faulted. It's characters such as Rick that we're going to rely upon at the moment, just like when circumstances previously conspired against our club.
Whilst on the topic, I think it's also worth giving the team behind this website a thanks for providing such a useful tool for coordinating a lot of the current activities. As well as the many members who have been instrumental with specific initiatives.
Your efforts haven't gone unnoticed, and I sincerely hope they wont be in vein. All the rest of us appreciate your energy and creativity.43 -

How anyone can question his loyalty to Charlton Athletic the football club, rather than the business is beyond me.1

We will force them out.
A great way to end the interview!10 -
I run Corporate Affairs for a pretty large firm and I have got to tell you that Rick Everitt would be just about the last person I'd want to pick a fight with.
Smart, brave, balls of steel, doesn't give a fuck what people think - and not remotely interested in being in anyone's keep.
We are very, very lucky to have him.49 -

Thought everyone on radio spoke very well. In addition to Airman, John and James, I thought Ollie did a fantastic job. Not sure if they're all Lifers?
Well done all!15 -

Don't forget how RD/KM reportedly made it "uncomfortable" for many existing employees who were also supporters. Some left to find other employment after many years of service to CAFC.
I think KM went on record as saying we had some employees with "outdated skills" or similar.
At the time, it may have sounded like sour grapes when these folk left the club - but look at things now - you can see the Belgian masterplan was to stem the flow of information from any source at the club.
Anyway, the masterplan is in full flow and we are moving forward under RD/KM by ...........er.........re-recruiting Powell, Poyet and Roger Johnson ?????
Well done to all the protest folk at the Forest game.3 -
Well done Rick ,and well done Danny Kelly for giving Airman the Time to articulate the views of many Cafc supporters, after 2 years of the abject and soul destroying way of running a football club.
Rick has 40 years experience, starting with the school magazine at his Grammar school in Sidcup, where school uniforms, Hair cuts and having a day off for Sam Bartrams Birthday, were just some of the victories won by Rick and Steve.
Airman, May be the too much of a leftie for some of you,
But we are lucky to have him and that we
Found our Voice of the Valley yesterday and for ever more.16 -
Good interview. Strong ending.

I chatted to Rick before the game and thought he was just a little more upbeat than of late. Go get 'em Rick!0

Already written into Charlton Athletic folklore. This is just another chapter. Yes we are very lucky to have him.7

Many of us will have Rick's excellent publication, 'Battle for the Valley'. I would like to suggest the title for the next one, 'Battle of the Valley'. I look forward to buying it, whatever it is called, and hope it helps other fans going through what we are now. We know we can defeat Duchatelet, we have achieved greater things already.8

The infamous Stoke game, had a nice piece of Valley turf that I kept on my mums kitchen window-sill (in a tupperware box....it lasted 3-4 weeks). I've known Rick for years (through several mutual friends) he certainly is an asset shame he isn't still working for the club....but that's another story.Lewis Coaches said:Dear old Rick love him or hate him you have to say he hits the nail on the head ever time.Keep up the good work you have done over the last 30years .Glad to have been on the pitch with you 21-09-1985.

I WENT into a public 'ouse to get a pint o' beer,
The publican 'e up an' sez, " We serve no red-coats here."
The girls be'ind the bar they laughed an' giggled fit to die,
I outs into the street again an' to myself sez I:
O it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' " Tommy, go away " ;
But it's " Thank you, Mister Atkins," when the band begins to play
The band begins to play, my boys, the band begins to play,
O it's " Thank you, Mister Atkins," when the band begins to play.
I went into a theatre as sober as could be,
They gave a drunk civilian room, but 'adn't none for me;
They sent me to the gallery or round the music-'alls,
But when it comes to fightin', Lord! they'll shove me in the stalls!
For it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' " Tommy, wait outside ";
But it's " Special train for Atkins " when the trooper's on the tide
The troopship's on the tide, my boys, the troopship's on the tide,
O it's " Special train for Atkins " when the trooper's on the tide.
Yes, makin' mock o' uniforms that guard you while you sleep
Is cheaper than them uniforms, an' they're starvation cheap.
An' hustlin' drunken soldiers when they're goin' large a bit
Is five times better business than paradin' in full kit.
Then it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an` Tommy, 'ow's yer soul? "
But it's " Thin red line of 'eroes " when the drums begin to roll
The drums begin to roll, my boys, the drums begin to roll,
O it's " Thin red line of 'eroes, " when the drums begin to roll.7 -
Just listened ...good stuff Rick0
