Richard M
Mr Murray , how can you support a regime that is very quickly flushing this once great football club down the toilet?
I've said it before. I'd have more respect for you if you walked away and actually told it like it is.
Painting a pretty picture for this bunch of chancers has done your reputation no good whatsoever.

I guess that is his reasoning ...but from our external viewpoint it doesn't seem to be doing much good.ShootersHillGuru said:Inside pissing out and outside pissing in ?

I have this 2% slither of hope that RM will talk one or two others in, head a little consortium, and get this club back from Belgium.
Absolutely no idea whether that is only a tiny bit viable, but I can't see any other option as being likely at this point.11 -
He's hanging for his Dosh. That's it.6

I have a lot of time for Murray but it seems all he is doing now is acting as a cheerleader to give the current owner and his puppets credibility. His store of goodwill has, sadly, been used up.1

He's still got some loans in there hasn't he, repayable on us reaching the promised land? I know that is clutching at straws but can't see him burning the last slat on his rope bridge.0

Hope it could be true otherewise we could be screwed for years.AFKABartram said:I have this 2% slither of hope that RM will talk one or two others in, head a little consortium, and get this club back from Belgium.

Come back Peter Varney28

Varney has more sense!! Seriously, who would want to get involved (or invest) in this joke of a club?0

Yes I think you are right but not sure of the breakdown, Muzza probably has more at stake.Scoham said:
Isn't that also the case for other previous directors as well?RedChaser said:He's still gone some loans in there hasn't he, repayable on us reaching the promised land? I know that is clutching at straws but can't see him burning the last slat on his rope bridge.

I can't believe Peter Varney takes any pleasure from our current situation. No idea why I have the feeling that we haven't seen the last of him. Clutching at straws perhaps.4

I can't believe Richard takes much delight from our current position, he must feel like he's been sold a dud like the rest of us, surely he can impart some common sense into Katrien and Roland?1

I think what others inc SHG are saying is that they'd give their eye teeth to have Peter Varney back on board but only as a Chairman/Director/co owner .addick05 said:Varney has more sense!! Seriously, who would want to get involved (or invest) in this joke of a club?
No way would he sully his reputation or risk his sanity by working under the current regime.
This "joke of a club" would have every chance of turning around that description if he, and/or someone of a similar ilk was involved again.
Like AFKA, I too can dream....

Must have felt like that after welcoming in Slater, Jimminez and Cash too. Sadly for RM since the Prem relegation and with the exception of one season, it has been a litany of poor decisions and dissapointment.Mendonca In Asdas said:I can't believe Richard takes much delight from our current position, he must feel like he's been sold a dud like the rest of us, surely he can impart some common sense into Katrien and Roland?

He's in a Catch-22. He doesn't have enough clout to change anything and yet he still has an investment. His stake only pays out in the PL and that's looking a decade off given the way it's going. There isn't a cat in hell's chance of him or any of the previous Directors buying Duchebag out. They haven't the money or the energy. If they did they would have done so to save the club from The Spivs. I am afraid to say that Richard Murray's reputation is getting a rinsing and his status in the history of our club being slowly being written-down as he continues to support this regime in silence. I am sure he reassures himself every night before bed that we could be a worse place had Duchebag not bailed us out but that argument gets weaker with every day and relegation will shatter it completely.11

but only 2% ?! .. my thoughts (I know f all about the real state of CAFC finances past or present) is that if a viable Murray-led buy out consortium is a viable possibility, where was it when Duchatelet took over ? .. or has the value of the club dropped to rock bottom and now the price may be right for such a scenario as you hope/want/think is a possibility.AFKABartram said:I have this 2% slither of hope that RM will talk one or two others in, head a little consortium, and get this club back from Belgium.

I suspect that the old Duch will hang on until the club hits bottom, or, of course, the (at present) unlikely situation that we recover, avoid relegation and make a right good go of it next season.
I was/still am perhaps prepared to give Duchatelet and his team some time .. BUT .. yesterday emphasised to even me, a born optimist, that we are in the quicksand and sinking quicker, the current squad, as promising as many are, is just too callow and inexperienced for this division2 -
What happened to all the fans' shares?2

Having seen RM laugh at those who tried to engage him in discussion at Sheff Weds game, I think RM is willing to align with anyone that gives him any chance of getting some of his money back. Can't blame him in many ways but think people are dreaming if they think the 'old' Murray will appear as a white knight!1

Come on Mr Murray, grow a back bone, and support us in this terrible mess you have got us into0

Good point. I surrendered mine happily to secure a future for the club. Don't think we ever really got a "thank you"...ThreadKiller said:What happened to all the fans' shares?

I don't think it's got anything to do with money. I think he agrees with the Duchatelet approach. Damaged by his own experiences.mart77 said:Having seen RM laugh at those who tried to engage him in discussion at Sheff Weds game, I think RM is willing to align with anyone that gives him any chance of getting some of his money back. Part of the RD strategy to avoid paying 100% of the preferential debt could be to stay in the nether regions of the Championship long enough to make it attractive for RM & others to accept a "cents on the dollar" offer on the basis that something is better than nothing?RedChaser said:He's still got some loans in there hasn't he, repayable on us reaching the promised land?
