Was sent this by a friend of mine on Facebook, no idea if the Addick shown in the photo is on CL but anyone who has played the game can relate to this...

Great Story. I stopped playing five a side up at Goals in Bexleyheath a couple of years ago because of being so busy at work, but that has made me want to go back and start playing again.0

I still play up at goals on a sunday and most of us have played together for years. Two brothers and I have played together since infant school (over 40 years ago) and I only found out a few weeks ago that they've got 2 sisters. We've only relatively recently (3-4 years ago) started going out for a drink/curry and getting to know each other. Still don't know half their surnames though. Couldn't meet a nicer group of blokes and although we play fairly competatively, there's never a deliberate bad tackle.3

A really heartfelt article.
There is a bond between the blokes you play sport with and he catches it well.
When I was a lad two blokes, Jack Vaughan, mentioned on here previously must try and find the thread, and Don Ford used to turn up at Shrewsbury Park on a Sunday afternoon along with a motley crew of young lads of all ages. The goals were the traditional jumpers or upturned benches and we'd have a pick up match then go our separate ways until the next time.
People came and people went but for a few years Jack and Don would be up the park trousers tucked into socks and it was nice to know it was there and I look back on it fondly.
