My favourite actor and all round hero. He nearly came to my birthday party once.

In a very particular order:

1) Get Carter - The best British gangster film
2) The Italian Job - Stylish, witty and a wonderful soundtrack.
3) Alfie - Hero and villain. Funny but dark.
4) The Ipcress File - Classic Cold War drama with Harry Saltzman's anti 007.
5) Educating Rita- And not many people know that!

    Watched Get Carter for the upteenth time Sunday evening, brilliant film, like Zulu and the Italian Job but can't beat Get Carter....just love that sound track and the opening scene in the pub.

    He's a real easy one to miss from Battle of Britain (Christopher Plummer is always the first name you think of or even Ian McShane), only remembered him being in it because of early mentions on here

    I could easily pick 5 more worthy films but Get Carter has to be there for me along with Educating Rita.

    It's a classic and very much from a bygone age as exemplified by many of the location shots.
