Club UoG - Charlton Athletic vs Ipswich Town - 28.11.15 - Kick Off 12.30pm
Hi
Great meeting you at the recent Fresher’s Fairs which I’m sure will seem like an eternity away now and I hope you have settled in to student life at the University of Greenwich.
When you gave us your details at the fairs, we did say we would be in touch with special offers to come to our home matches and socialise with other UoG students from the various campuses. I’m pleased to say, here is the first one of these offers, the launch of our brand new student zone where you will all be sat enjoying the match together in the Club UoG part of the stadium, so please follow the link below for details on how to purchase your tickets.
http://www.suug.co.uk/ents/event/3406/
You will see that this offer is being run in conjunction with the Students’ Union and we want to see as many of you as possible at this event.
So why not make a day of it and come and join us and other UoG students from the various campuses?
We look forward to welcoming you on the 28th November.

Apart from not being at Uni, thought it was quite interesting

A tenner to get in and that includes a free drink and a black and white scarf. Bargain!1

I do hope the free drink isn't tea or coffee as that is where the best margins are.
Will be interesting to see the take up but if it brings in more paying fans then all well and good.
Intrigued by the "exclusive Club UoG bar area". Where would that be then? Upper West somewhere?5 -
Email is from Lisa Squires apparently cafc club development manager0

The free drink will involve queuing at The Bartram Gates, getting a voucher whilst being ticked off on list arranged by middle name. That voucher is then to be taken to the ticket office to be stamped and authenticated. The voucher can then be spent at the bar for tap water only between 12.15 and 12.3026

The Vista lounge is very nice, worth a visit if you get the chance.
Didn't get the free drink as all staff seemed unaware of the deal..

They gave the students the vista lounge? Good value for a £10 ticketiamdan said:The Vista lounge is very nice, worth a visit if you get the chance.

Did no one kick up a fuss about the lack of free drinks.
What is your estimate on number of students there?0 -
Students and staff were allowed access to the lounge, agree good value for £10.
Not much fuss as the staff the were geniunely unaware which made everyone doubt themselves.. Good ploy by them
The lounge was packed out, most people having to stand, not too many spotty students, just seemed a few youngsters with their families.
Thinking about it, I hope I was in the right place

Not a surprise that Delaware North staff "didn't know". They have previous with the Bournemouth food.
I hope they try the idea a few more time and then review it as part of Target 20k0 -
I can't believe the club reneged on a promise. Well at least they are reneging on promises, to the potential new fans, as well as the existing ones.
Start as you mean to go on.
Well played Pinochio.5 -
Breakdown in communication? That would be unlike the club at the moment.iamdan said:The Vista lounge is very nice, worth a visit if you get the chance.

I would have thought there'd have been a riot if a group of students were promised a free drink and didn't receive !2

The staff were aware of the deal and the first student in the lounge did collect a free half pint of cider. He then unfortunately tied up all the remaining bar-staff whilst writing out his cheque for an accompanying packet of dry-roasted peanuts meaning no-one else was able to claim their free drink.iamdan said:The Vista lounge is very nice, worth a visit if you get the chance.
