His brother Ken only passed away a week or so ago.

Tom was a lovely batsman to watch and should have represented England more often than he did.

Still remember his cover drives, so easy on the eye. Quality batsman, and as LG says, should have been picked for England more often.

Superb, classy batsman. Brave too, played a lot of the fast stuff off his front foot.

The last of the '53 Ashes winning team gone. He would have played a lot more for England if wasn't such a naughty boy. He was a maverick, in the Gower mode not the KP one, hence he was most amused apparently when he was made MCC President in 2005. Loved him in the TV commentary box in the 70's and 80's.0
