I was out there for the England group games. I'm sure my ticket for the Denmark game still said England V Yugoslavia on it.Danepak said:One of the very very best moments of my life

Have enjoyably used this thread as a bit of a break from work thinking this week, and the one conclusion I've come to is...
There really isn't in the grand scheme of things that many iconic football images!1 -
I think what makes certain images iconic is the sense of instant recall and the memories that come back when you see that image. There seemed to be more on the Charlton thread because that's the team we all love. With this thread there may be some great images and images of (other peoples') great moments, but aside from a handful of the England ones there's probably not that much that would bond us to most of them.AFKABartram said:Have enjoyably used this thread as a bit of a break from work thinking this week, and the one conclusion I've come to is...

Delete the Rui Costa one you'll get banned for pyroStig said:We've already got a thread for Charlton photos http://forum.charltonlife.com/discussion/48269/iconic-images-charlton/p1 (though so some of the photos have fallen off the wall and need replacing), so I thought it would be worth a thread for non-Charlton photos.

Didn't I say that a while ago. People mix up mildly interesting and iconic unfortunately.AFKABartram said:Have enjoyably used this thread as a bit of a break from work thinking this week, and the one conclusion I've come to is...

These photo's bring back so many memories, like Man U playing an FA Cup replay at the old Wembley against an amateur Club. Like Nat Lofthouse heading for the Russian Keeper who froze with fear allowing the ball to go in between his legs. Those were the days !0
