Addick killed in America - RIP @USofAddick

On behalf of Peter’s family I’d just like to thank all the supporters who joined in with the applause on 11 minutes on Saturday. Everyone was touched by the level of support that was shown by the fans and the club. It means so much to us that a supportive gesture of this kind could have been made by those who didn’t know Peter personally but have been heartened by his story and have recognised his enthusiasm for Charlton and the game itself. As a kid he was desperate to get involved in any way possible, I remember him writing a match report on the return journey of a Junior Red’s coach so that he could read it out on air on Charlton Live!
The last few months have been tough, but on Saturday morning our local church was packed out with people wanting to celebrate and share in stories about a man who followed his dream to have a career in football. Had Peter made his journey only a few seconds later on that day in May, I think many of you would have heard of his name a few years from now but under hugely more positive circumstances.
Thanks to all of you on Charlton Life for your kind words in this thread and others. Many of your comments have been included in a book that the family now has copies of. We really appreciate your thoughts and actions. I went to try and see the flowers that GlassHalfFull so kindly and thoughtfully arranged and got some pictures from the memorial garden and I passed them on to Peter's wife.
A special thanks to Olly who pushed the publicity of our applause on the club’s side and for helping to bring it to the attention of Katrien Meire, who I understand was also supportive.
At times like this it feels as though Charlton is still very much a club that cares about it’s fans and having everyone joining with us in the applause on Saturday is a testament to who we are as fans and just how important Charlton is to the lives of individuals alike, following our Charlton with it’s unique history and tradition.
As tragic as Peter’s death has been I believe that there is much opportunity for good things to continue to develop out of his life, passing and legacy. The reaction from Charlton is one that we all will remember and hold on to with much gratitude and take comfort from.

Peter chose this shirt design for his team in April. He would have laughed when he saw our away kit for this season. His team now wear his initials 'PJU' on their 'jerseys'.
