I think Trent Boult has been the difference between the two sides. He broke up the Morgan/Buttler rhythm and got the crucial wicket.

Figures of 2-42 from his first 8 overs as well. We can't let any bowler get away at 5 an over when we're chasing 400.

90 needed from 60 balls... and the rain is falling. They're staying on for now.

    86 needed from 54 balls.

Boult finishes with 2-53 from his 10 overs.

Nine overs left to be bowled, of which only four will be pace.

Have to say whatever happens in this match, it's so refreshing to be entertained by an ODI match involving England. I don't wanna switch over from this run chase.

They've gone off for rain...... 54 from 37 required. England are behind D/L by 9 runs.

This match has the third highest score aggregate in ODI history. It would also be the second highest successful run chase in history if first, they get back on the pitch and second, England make the runs required.

Covers are coming off! If play starts in 10 minutes time, England will bat their full 50 overs.

Raining again. Real shame. Absolute pony rules which dictate the close of play. There are bloody flood lights and 20,000+ who've paid through the nose. Just wait and get on with it when it stops. The way Plunkett and Rashid are playing I believe England will get it - if they get back out there.

They went back on and are coming off again... properly this time. Reckon we might lose an over or two.

46 overs in the revised innings. Play resumes at 21:10. Another twenty minutes??? The covers are all but off.

England will require 34 runs from 13 balls. Ridiculous equation. We've lost 24 balls and only "gained" 20 runs.

How on earth have they worked that out?

How on earth have they worked that out?

It's based off a D/L equation that was devised about 20 years ago and based off how they scored back then too. With eight and nine in, 20 runs from 24 balls might've been a fair allocation. But not in today's game.

Calculation is a complete joke. Needed a very getable 9 an over before the break. All of a sudden that jumps to 17 an over!?! Complete nonsense. What difference does it make if they finish at 9.15 or 9.45?

    Just to confirm that:

    four overs were lost.
In the last four overs of our innings (40-43.5), England scored 36 runs but
the equation has given us 20.

46 overs means 4 lots of 9 overs and 1 lot of 10. Boult already took his full 10. McClenaghan has bowled 9 and Southee is at 8.5. And so...

I think it'll be one ball of Southee followed by an over each of Santner and McCullum. Ian Smith in the Sky comm box says Grant Elliott might bowl one.

    28 from 8 & a wicket. Plunkett gone.

This resumption has made a bit of a joke of the situation.

What a bit of fielding that was. Rashid hit a six all the way. Southee took it one handed and was running over the rope. Threw it over the fence into the hands of Boult.

But game over now. No six and the better batsmen gone.

24 needed from the last over and 9 wickets down.
