He wasn't horrendous but deeply uninspiring. Passed the ball forwards less that Keith Jones and Matt Holland !

Veljokovic was OK, and his passing was steady but how many defensive midfielders do we actually need ? Can he play at centre back ?
    Yes
Then if he is any good at centre back, it would be a good loan.

As long as Cousins is not shunted to the left to accommodate him in midfield, as was the case in Luzon's initial games.
  • I heard Harry Osborne will be leaving the club.

Feel sorry for the lad- was only a year or two ago he was expected to be our next big thing but got hit by a terrible injury that put him out for a while!

I thought he looked a quality player in his brief spell with us, very intelligent positionally

If Harry Osbourne goes that will leave Andre Bikey and Joe Gomez as the only centre backs at the club.

Under 21 or under 19. Ready for the step up ?

(Think I am getting a bit mixed up with Osbourne with Lennon)

Terrell Thomas has signed a new contract. He tweeted the news this morning.

I don't know how long the deal is for.

Harry Osbourne hasn't played Centre Half for a while. Have got some decent Centre Half's in Thomas, Obileye, Lennon, Konsa and Yao.

True, should probably be considered a right back.
  • Well done to TT.

Is Konsa the lad from Man City?

No it was Elan Assiana that was at Man City. Not sure why but he doesn't seem to have played very much this season.
  • ^according to twitter he has had numerous injuries this season now I have looked.

I know its not important in the scheme of things but they really need to tidy up that office before doing a signing.

I was reading an article recently (can't for the life of me remember which one it was) where one of the guys managing in the Premiership made them spend a little money smartening up the back office, canteen, etc as he was shocked at the state of the place when he arrived and it gave the impression it was a very unprofessional outfit.

£10m on a new training ground.

The delays over the sparrows lane redevelopment have left the place looking a bit shabby but I agree they could find a smarter corner somewhere.

Then again it is a players tweet not the OS. We don't know who took it.

Not fussed but I suppose they could use the board room for signings at all levels.

Pleased with this. He and Lennon were excellent against Gillingham. Thomas has looked very good in all the KSC games this season, against some big old lumps...

Agree it looks untidy and certainly unglamorous. Little things are important. I'm sure not quite "official" photos but we've seen enough of them to make me think that no thought goes into this aspect of the club. A picture in the managers office would surely be better.

Buyens and Gudmundsson weren't impressed with our training Ground,
The pitch or the rest of Sparrows lane with Yoni Saying it was Shit.
(i was at the bar at the time and may of misheard)
At Eltham Addicts from a couple of weeks ago.

They both praised the Valley Pitch saying it was the best in Championship.

Charlton can confirm that the following players will leave the club this summer, following the expiration of their current contracts
    Olly Groome reports

Charlton can confirm that the following players will leave the club this summer, following the expiration of their current contracts.

    Tal Ben Haim
    Simon Church
    Chris Eagles
    Roger Johnson
    Lawrie Wilson
    Oguchi Onyewu
    Neil Etheridge
    Jack Munns
    Harry Osborne
    Harry Gerard
    Kadell Daniel
    Kurtis Cumberbatch
    Kieran Monlouis
    Rhys Browne
    Levander Pyke

Tal Ben Haim was a key member of the side which secured a top-half finish in the Championship last term, making 38 appearances , while Roger Johnson and Chris Eagles were brought in to help steer the Addicks back up the table in February.

Former academy product Lawrie Wilson arrived back at The Valley in 2012 and the versatile defender quickly became a fan favourite during his 108 appearances for the club, finishing runner-up in 2014's Player of the Year vote.

Meanwhile, Wales International Simon Church leaves Charlton having scored 10 goals in 63 outings during his two-year stay in SE7, including a memorable winner in the FA Cup fifth-round victory over Sheffield Wednesday in 2014.

Elsewhere, in addition to Jack Munns who has joined Cheltenham Town on a one-year deal, fellow development squad players Harry Osborne, Harry Gerard, Kadell Daniel, Kurtis Cumberbatch, Kieran Monlouis, Rhys Browne and Levander Pyke have all departed The Valley as have Neil Etheridge and Oguchi Onyewu who had both signed on deals until the end of the 2014/15 campaign.

Charlton would like to thank the players released and wish them well for the fututre.

    Ok – so of the remaining senior players this is how I see our squad breaking down – would be interested in how others see our squad shaping up with regards to these categories;

Good enough for a top six XI

    Henderson
    Solly
    Gomez
    Gudmundson
    Cousins

Good enough for a mid table XI/top six squad

    Bikey
    Wiggins
    Fox
    Diarra
    Igor
    Watt

    Not good enough for either

    Nego
    Jackson
    LePoint
    Moussa
    Harriott
    Reza
    Polish Pete
    Pigott
    Tucudean
