Charlton set for Sinclair announcement

CHARLTON are set to complete a loan deal for Chelsea winger Scott Sinclair - while striker Izale McLeod is expected to move to Sheffield Wednesday until the end of the season.

Blues midfielder Sinclair has been linked with a move to The Valley for a number of weeks, but the South London Press understands the switch will be sealed today, with an announcement to be made later in the day or on Friday morning.

The pacy winger - who has represented England at U17, U18 and U19 level - can also be used up front, and has impressed during previous loan spells at Plymouth and QPR. He trained with the Addicks earlier this week and is rated highly by manager Alan Pardew.

Sinclair will stay with the South Londoners until the end of the season, with the deal set to expire after the Championship play-off final in May.

Meanwhile, forward McLeod is available on loan, with struggling Wednesday leading the chase for the 22-year-old.

McLeod - who signed for Charlton from MK Dons for £1.1million in August - has only scored once for the Addicks and has had limited first-team opportunities.
