    She found herself in a spotlight she never asked for and handled it brilliantly. Famous for being the slip of a girl who cheeked the establishment in a way many of the time would have loved to, but was still too servile to actually do.

    You have to understand the 60's and the deference of the time where things like the courts were concerned. People really were still in awe of the "Majesty of the Law". But she wasn't intimidated and everybody said "Good on yer, girl" for looking that pompous Barrister in the eye and saying what everybody was thinking.
