I don't understand how or why they exist - bit I'm bloody glad they do !1

'Moscow-based Charlton Athletic fans amateur football club was born on 28.02.14'
Thats all i can find. Anyone know if they are English guys, a mixture, or all Russian lads?0 -
a couple of these tough looking lads might be useful when Bikey and Ben Haim hang up their socks0
-
I'm also baffled as to how this came about. Bloody brilliant though!0
-
is there an English clubs fans league in Moscow ? .. the opposition here are wearing Spurs kit0
-
Back in the prem days there were a group of lads that come over a couple of times from Moscow, think they did Boro away once.
They seemed to survive purely on vodka, copious amounts. For one of their visits, @Oakster arranged a CIFC game with them on Blackheath Common i think for the Sunday morning. Wasn't there, but were meant to be great lads.1 -

Maybe it's the Russians who use to come away with us a few times back in the prem - Boro I remember being particalurly messy3

Does Alexi Smertin play for them?0
-
No mate, but seems they play all sorts of other English themed sides. They are fanatical about us though, looks good fun.charlton_hero said:

I remember the boro game.
Had a replacement bus service for part of the train journey and one of them had to be carried onto the bus.
Absolute carnage.8 -
Yeah it was the Vodka at 6am in the morning that did it. I was so ill on the way back. Thankfully a nice female steward looked after me (travelled back 1st class).paulbaconsarnie said:I remember the boro game.

surely a pre season friendly is in order?

the russians were Spartak Moscow fans who were originally visiting to see the champions' league gave vs Arsenal and ended up adopting Charlton
the CIFC gave against them was an absolute battering, we borrowed a couple of their players and ended up losing 7-1. Myself, @Oakster @Charlton Charlie @randy andy all played, not sure if any others are on here, @Oakster 's report is below
then myself and oakster plus possibly others, I can't remember played against them for an Arsenal team and probably got battered again
I remember having to write out the words to Valley Floyd Road so they could all practice them
-----------------------------------
A 7-1 defeat by the Russians. Fielding a very much under strength
side CIFC fought bravely in the first half to restrict the Ruskis to
just 2-0 at half time. A fine effort from Messrs Williams & Peters
in the middle at the back breaking up swarm after swarm of Russians
breaking through our midfield. Indeed it was reminiscent of
Stalingrad in 1942 when the brave Nazi defenders held out against
the communist counterattacking onslaughts, with suicidal Reds
swarming day & night across the river Volga. All this after the
Fatherlands glorious march across the Caucasas as part of Operation
Barabarossa had come to grinding holt in the backstreets &
warehouses of Stalingrad.
The second half saw the Red's encircling the CIFC penalty area and
much like the 1942 fixture in which Generalfeldmarschall Friedrich
Paulus Sixth army had finally been encircled by revenge hungry
Russians, the boys in Ecru capitulated. 5 sniper like goals flew
past the hapless Guyott - with the only comic relief an unlikely
goal from Matt Owen. Much like Bergkamp's at Newcastle last year was
this the work of a football genius or an unitentional slice of pure
luck??? - I'll leave those that were there to judge!! The other
highlight was a shot on goal from Spinksy, which caused the Russian
keeper a (very) brief moment of concern.
In the end the maurauding Russians simply overwhelmed us & what
remained of the dreary, dejected CIFC troops marched off to the icy
Gulags of the Coldharbour changing rooms - never to be heard of
again.

Used to love @Oakster match reports. Don't think he ever had a bad game and not one of his almost weekly own goals were up ever his fault :-)4

Brilliant. I love the one with the pyrotechnic stuff behind the goal.
Based on the table it looks like they are also a couple of players short.2
