The way that has been written it look like Gomez is in midfield (as well as Morrison, Thomas is usually a CB).
  • One down at ht but Brum down to 10 men:)

I thought possibly a 3-5-2 with Gomez and Fox as wing backs?

Morrison, Bulot, Church and Harriott not bad for under 21's
  • Munns makes 1-1 in 66th min

CAFC gone 3 - 4- 3 to try and win it against 10 man Brum

Despite us having the numerical advantage we didn't play particularly well in the first half. I thought we livened up a bit in the second and Munns coming on as substitute made a difference to us. As well as scoring a good goal he also passed it well. We had a very experienced team out and not many would have enhanced their reputations under the watchful eye of Bob Peeters. The penalty Birmingham got was a bit soft. But the penalty shout that they had later to me was a penalty. The poor Birmingham player got sent off for simulation. We had a decent chance at the end when Sub Ansah blazed over the bar.

It finished Charlton 1 Birmingham 1

    Charlton team

    Pope
    Pyke, Morrison, Thomas, Fox
    Church,Muldoon, Gomez, Bulot
    Harriott,
    Ahearne-Grant

    Subs used Holmes-Dennis,Munns, Ansah,
    Subs not used Obileye Phillips.

The formation was then changed to 3-5-2 when we were pushing for a winner.

All those senior players and they could not beat Brum under 21 with 10 men. Please tell me someone that they had a few senior players too, or else it is quite disappointing

Thanks Paulie but not as many as ours, perhaps our squad not good enough
  • Stephen Gleeson would have been perfect as the creative midfielder for us

How did Gomez do in central midfield?

He did ok, some of his long passes went astray but he is combative and quick. He moved to the right of a back three and did well there. Nobody really pushed to say pick me. But Bob arrived on the sidelines and was quite vociferous. It was obvious that the team upped the tempo. He is really a hands on Manager.

  • And Ahearne-Grant?

    And Ahearne-Grant?

He was ok. I have seen him play better. He should have had a goal but Church shot at goal with his marshmallow foot instead of squaring it to him.

He looked fairly lively, but he is all left foot and a bit lightweight. But he has good technique on the ball.

    I don't!

Watched him against Billericay, nothing special at all.

Our squad is so thin that there may not be much choice about adding youngsters to our squad, including Jack Munns. That is unless everybody stays fit, and free of suspension (how many yellows has Yoni had this season>), or unless we get players in on loan.
