  • The way that has been written it look like Gomez is in midfield (as well as Morrison, Thomas is usually a CB).
  • One down at ht but Brum down to 10 men:)

I thought possibly a 3-5-2 with Gomez and Fox as wing backs?
  • Morrison, Bulot, Church and Harriott not bad for under 21's
  • Munns makes 1-1 in 66th min

CAFC gone 3 - 4- 3 to try and win it against 10 man Brum

a lot of first team experience with fox, gomez and pope there as well. Very good to see from our youngsters.

I know my comment was that its a strong line up 4 under 21's
  • Despite us having the numerical advantage we didn't play particularly well in the first half. I thought we livened up a bit in the second and Munns coming on as substitute made a difference to us. As well as scoring a good goal he also passed it well. We had a very experienced team out and not many would have enhanced their reputations under the watchful eye of Bob Peeters. The penalty Birmingham got was a bit soft. But the penalty shout that they had later to me was a penalty. The poor Birmingham player got sent off for simulation. We had a decent chance at the end when Sub Ansah blazed over the bar.

It finished Charlton 1 Birmingham 1

    Charlton team

    Pope
    Pyke, Morrison, Thomas, Fox
    Church,Muldoon, Gomez, Bulot
    Harriott,
    Ahearne-Grant

    Subs used Holmes-Dennis,Munns, Ansah,
    Subs not used Obileye Phillips.

The formation was then changed to 3-5-2 when we were pushing for a winner.
  • All those senior players and they could not beat Brum under 21 with 10 men. Please tell me someone that they had a few senior players too, or else it is quite disappointing

  • over 21 players for Brum
    Colin Doyle in Goal
    Andrew Shinnie
    Steven Gleeson

    plus Will Packwood also played
  • Thanks Paulie but not as many as ours, perhaps our squad not good enough
  • Stephen Gleeson would have been perfect as the creative midfielder for us

How did Gomez do in central midfield?
  • And Ahearne-Grant?
  • And Ahearne-Grant?

He was ok. I have seen him play better. He should have had a goal but Church shot at goal with his marshmallow foot instead of squaring it to him.

  • As we are asking, what about Bulot

He looked fairly lively, but he is all left foot and a bit lightweight. But he has good technique on the ball.

Has he made a tackle yet?

    I don't!

Watched him against Billericay, nothing special at all.
