It's not gone unnoticed

It's been an absolute fantastic start by Charlton, I'm a little surprised by it but fair play you've beaten some decent sides.

Top ten easy.

Bob Peeters' six-match league start is the best ever recorded by a Charlton manager. Beating the previous best, Chris Powell, by a goal difference of one.
  • Have to say,it's been a really pleasant surprise to many,if not all of us,the start we have made. Long may it continue :)

In the Championship? We won the first 6 in 09/10 under Parky.

    100% support
  • OP knows full well that Blackpool were top at this stage last year and managed 16 points from their first six games and ended up almost being relegated.

Just wait 'til May when he resurrects this thread!

Best start by a manager, not to a season...

Still no pics of the "lucky" lady though. Although I believe that this might give us some idea...

Unfortunately Parky's start with us was a little difficult: P6 W0 D2 L4. In fact only Foley and Bailey have made worse starts.

    25/11/08 QPR 1-2
    29/11/08 Southampton 0-0
    06/12/08 Blackpool 0-2
    09/12/08 Coventry 1-2
    15/12/08 Derby 2-2
    26/12/08 Norwich 0-1

As Pedro said it's not a seasonal start, but a managerial one. The magnificent start of 2009/10 that you mentioned is our best ever over 6 matches.

At least they weren't using those results as a measure of whether he was getting the job permanently or not.

It was after that Derby game that we really knew all hope was extinguished and we were doomed.

I watched that on TV here in Oz and at 2-1 I thought the corner was being turned....

Of that list for me it was the QPR away game. I think it was Keith Gillespies debut, terrible.

Thanks. Decent sides yes but nobody massive :)
Time will tell if we can keep going. And whether we can beat teams coming to the Valley looking for one rather than three points.
We've played some top teams but the worst game I've seen was Brentford away. I heard Huddersfield away wasn't pretty.
Basically we need another couple of players to consistently produce 10-15 chances a game.

We're unnoticed by the Bookies. We were 21/10 to beat Watford and now we are 9/5 outsiders to win at home to newly promoted Wolves!
Doesn't bother me in the slightest, we'll keep plugging away under the radar.
Also interesting that Fulham's odds are shorter than ours for promotion.
  • Spoken to quite a few different people today who support premiership teams, they all asked the same question, who is your manager these days?

Not one of them had heard of BP ( nor had I before he came here).

I think he's done an amazing job in a short space of time, long may it continue.

    Best post lol.
