Just when you thought it couldn't get anymore embarrassing, here is the account of one of the protesters.

Yeah I was there at that point, on hearing the bangs and seeing the flares, I thought it was Millwall fans coming to cause trouble as a couple of PCSO's had come to the training ground about an hour and a half before the incident basically saying that they had a tip off that someone was gonna come down and cause trouble. So on hearing the smoke bombs/flares get let off, I think everyone assumed it was Millwall fans coming to get us, so Mark Ritson shouted "everyone get out of here now" and that sparked panic amongst most of the people (mainly kids) who were already there as they flees to safety. I dived in a bush, and thought I was alone, but a couple of minutes later realised a couple of the kids must have followed me in. Someone then phoned the police, but shortly after the phone call ended the mob started to sing Palace songs so I realised that maybe this wasn't Millwall after all. The HF quickly vanished when the blue lights appeared!

    Retreat lads!

Brilliant, has to be wind up surely

This Mark Ritson character seems to have the type of leadership qualities that are otherwise sadly lacking amongst young people these days.

I thought the name rang a bell re Charlton.

Well well. So he worked for Charlton. Maybe he learned the phrase 'Everybody out of here now!!!!' during the redundancy spree.

    Doesn't he post on here?
  • Harsh. I think the Palace-baiting should stop, otherwise they might organise another protest. In fact, I hear they've put this brainiac in charge of sorting it:

The thing that annoys me most is there '#AgainstModernFootball' approach and the fact they are so desperate to be liked by other 'Ultras' on the continent that actually have reason to be pissed off with some elements of the modern game (see Red Bull). What do Palace have to be pissed off about? The money was much needed to them and i cant see them being that upset if their new £7m record signing scores. I wonder how they afforded him?

They really take embarrassing to a whole new level.

The Sky Cameras were there (and all the other Prem ones) for transfer deadline day for live reports.

Is this because Sky wont show many of their games?

    Video is fake.

Can't be real, palace fans out after dark does not happen. Especially with the new school term on the horizon.

Don't fall into the trap of arguing that they can't be against modern football (Sky), yet they are happy to take Premier League money (from Sky).

It sounds too much like them saying we should be grateful for them "saving" us during the Selhurst years, and not understanding why we're not.

In many ways, we've been a club willing to speak truth to power and leading calls for better distribution, so generally we're not best pleased with Sky's impact ourselves, if I can be so bold as to generalise.

The problem is not their stance on the issues, but the typically "nigel" way they go about it!!! It's ridiculous, cringeworthy and empty!

They're like the kid in the neighbourhood who's all One Direction up until the day after their 11th birthday, when out of the blue, they pitch up in full Goth mode espousing the virtues of nihilism. They're in existential crisis!

There's a bit of a resemblance there between Aladdin Sane and Jim White's election agent. Are they one and the same, or is his sister his mother?

  • Nigel Martyn's moustache! The guy to his right looks like a bigger douche though.

The bloke on the right appears to be a cross between Todd Rundgren and Jimmy Savile
