I have posted somewhere else about the dangers of "targets" and how they can distort everything else going on about them.
In Paulie's case it would seem that he has sacrificed everything, a life, progress at work and the chance of meeting a woman somewhere just so that he can post thousands of comments and achieve his target of pandering to the CL masses.
