Bob Peters Composure and Apparent Carson Issue - We Should Be a Family Friendly Club

Wow what a winey post, even when we win with a last minute goal our fans find something to moan about. Obviously I'm not talking about the spitting that is a shameful disgusting act5

The 'Wigan bloke' put himself to shame by calling another manager a c***!DMC said:
Ok thank you I didnt see that. However my point still stands that if he had apologised he would have put the wigan bloke to shame and shown his integrity.WSS said:
He did:DMC said:
No certainly not but he should have run towards his own fans. I just don't see why he didn't apologize for that after.OsamaBenHamer said:
Honestly don't think Bob had any intention of antagonising Rosler or the Wigan bench.DMC said:
It was a great moment but why did he run towards the away end??OsamaBenHamer said:I don't care what anyone says, it would've literally been impossible for him to control himself in that situation. I am personally glad we finally have a manager who shows so much passion. Too many times in recent years we have just rolled over when it comes to local derbies and big games, and I think with Bob that will begin to change.
“In that moment, I need to be smarter and just step away. I lost my composure a bit.
“I apologise before my players that I lost my composure. I need to be strong in every moment, but I’m not going to apologise to him because he said things to me. Never ever.”5 -
I know and i strongly dislike him but we should be putting ourselves above that and showing that we know what integrity is.stoneroses19 said:

Except by starting a thread with such a title, you are linking the two.DMC said:
Im not linking the incidents but merely pointing out it hasnt been the only one in recent times.olster said:Massively unfair to link the two incidents in any sort of way.
BP celebrating exuberantly doesn't diminish our standing as a family friendly club.

I didn't want to get punched in the face before going on holiday? Or I didn't want to get in a fight and have them take away my season ticket?cafcnick1992 said:Why didn't anyone around the spitting man say something? We should police each other.
He wasn't in a sober state and not someone you could have a reasonable chat with.2 -
If Powell, Riga, Curbishley or Lawrence was poked in the chest for no apparent reason, then I'm sure the reaction would have been no different.
So what if he ran towards their dugout. We have just scored a winning 93rd minute goal. He is not going to be Mr Chummary Warner is he, unless he did not want to damage his thermos or crease his blanket and politely clap with a round of applause in his technical area3 -

Agree with the second part, but cant agree with firstDMC said:Yes I know that there is a thread for each but I think there is a bigger issue here that should be taken seriously.
I understand that BP was getting excited in the moment and was showing passion, but Chris Powell (and Jose Riga to an extent as well) showed a huge amount of passion without charging provocatively towards the opposition manager. In what should be a family friendly club the manager has a responsibility because he is who the younger folk look up to. It gets worse when he refuses to apologize for his part in the spat, I dont care what the Wigan manager said BP should be acting the "bigger man". I know we don't have "the gentleman of football" managing us anymore but I don't want a manager who gets himself into petty disputes so hopefully this will be the first and last.
As for the second incident, obviously it goes without saying that it was an appalling one and I hope Carson doesn't take a disliking to charlton fans because of it. If it was a one of incident then I wouldn't be too bothered but there have been more incidents over the last year than normal for Charlton and I think we as a club need to take more responsibility over our own actions.
Im interested to know what you think.2 -
Well done bobby, didn't know what to do as he was going so mental. Brilliant. The Carson incident was out of order. Gobbing on people is lowest of the lows. People on the Carson thread crying because some people gave him abuse/ made wanker signs need to have a word with themselves though. Opposition players getting grief is part and parcel of football. Can't say I ever felt any real affinity with Carson. Bloke was on loan, was never gonna sign for us and can't really remember him being a fan favourite despite getting poty. I personally wouldn't have given him any grief but have no problem if someone else wants to give him the bird.2

To the OP - this tread is Tripe, it is passion! he maybe shouldn't have ran that direction, but in the heat of the moment how may people who are quiet, normal people went freaking mental when Charlton scored?
if he sat politely clapped in the dugout you would moan about that as well!

He apologised for over celebrating.
He won't apologise to Uwe because of the things that were said at him, and the lack of intent by Bob in the first place.1 -
So our manager loses his head with passion from a massive late winner for us, still says sorry to his players, despite the other manager showing he has no class and calling him a C**t and you are seriously being critical.
Bob just acted like an excited fan in a great moment, i don't see the issue, i like that about him.
Spitting of course is disgusting, hope the fans get banned.6 -
Actualy when someone once said something to powell about a mate who died or something like that, he almost lost his temper but then walked off the pitch without even having been sent off or doing anything to warrant a sending off.shirty5 said:If Powell, Riga, Curbishley or Lawrence was poked in the chest for no apparent reason, then I'm sure the reaction would have been no different.

As for Bob, in the last 2 managers (as i said) we sore huge amounts of passion without ever seeing anything like this.0 -

My recollection was that Powell was sent off in a pre season friendly against an Italian club for losing the plot.DMC said:

Good for Bob. We need more of that. I think DMC is on a wind up.1

Sorry Big Bob gets my backing too. Great to see some real passion. Actually showing the passion and it then feeds to the fans. The atmosphere at the end was fantastic and a lot of that was because of him.3
-
What did he actually do, I didn't see anything other than the photo above and turning to us in the West Stand..........he is facing us after his celebration, did I miss something????11
-
On reflection , I was actually a bit disappointed with Bob in the end.
When Moussa grabbed that winner Bob should have dived head first into the North stand lower to proper celebrate with the Charlton fans, talk about lack of passion....1 -
Superb photo0
-
well done Big Bob,more of the same please0

If I was our manager, I would've run over to Rosler, dropped my trousers and slapped my arse. That man is such an ignorant prick. Does no-one recall his derogatory comments towards our club when he was Brentford manager when we were both in L1?
Couldn't happen to a nicer peice of shit...............9 -
Rosler is a complete plank, and always has been.
Bob Peeters, on the other hand, is going to be a very, very good manager for us.2 -

There is a man who could quite easily rip my head off!2 -
Peeters got caught out in the heat of the moment. No harm done and anyway it is only Rosler. I doubt he was being deliberately provocative and don't you think CP swinging on another teams crossbar coud be viewed as provocative too?
As for the spitting. Find the scumbag and ban him. Disgusting behaviour.3 -
Can anyone confirm that someone is moaning about the managers reaction to a 93rd min winner against a more than decent side in this division? Cheers5
