Reading's finances

An interesting backdrop to the same of Le Fondre to Cardiff is where Reading are going.
Reading's director of football Nick Hammond meanwhile confirmed that the club couldn't afford to turn down the offer for Le Fondre given the current financial difficulties. It seems that unless you bounce back after relegation straight away, financial problems can set in quickly as we found out ourselves...
Royals owe £1.6m to HM Revenue & Customs and another payment of a similar amount is due within the fortnight.

I'm sure there's a few that we could do with. Unfortunately, I can't see us paying their value or matching their current wage.......................0

Reading are no longer under a transfer embargo, which had been in place since the summer of 2021.
BBC South Today understands that an outstanding tax debt owed to HM Revenue & Customs has now been settled.
