***FAO CL Home Games poker league players***
Too little players makes a good game seem boring and slow. But why so few? The last 2 years when I done the survey, apart from Sundays, the 2 most popular days jointly were Monday and Thursday, we started off the season well but now numbers have diminished. I know that there are a few that can't make Mondays and a few that can't make Thursdays but there are also a few that can't make Sundays, hence the diversity.
Going by the observation of speed. I have left the next game as is 18th May (Sunday) big KO, but the next KO scheduled on the Monday 3rd June I've set up as a Turbo, blinds go up every 5 mins instead of 10 and faster play. This should in theory half the game time, then after a long day at work for some it wouldn't feel so daunting.
Does this sound like a good idea? Does anybody else have any suggestions? We have 96 members where are you all?

If i am at home and not doing anything i will play. My options for days were what i percieved to be the most likely days where things dont come up. If something comes up, i will rarely say no because i have to play in a CL poker match. I do love it though and always think "damn, dads gonna get more points than me if i dont play". He hasnt got the social life he once had and will 99% of the time be there!0

Because i do shift work i can't make certain games. It just so happens that the last game ( and next ) fall on when i'm on nights. Apart from that there is no reason why i can't play. The smaller stakes doesn't seem to be tempting in any new players. I'd prefer a bigger stake once a month at a regular slot. At the moment it seems like too many games for me. Also I'd prefer to play evenings on a tablet which doesn't look possible with PS Homegames0

Think the turbo format is worth trying for a weekday, but the game going on for a long time doesn't bother me at all on cl, even adds to the satisfaction if you get a result (from memory)1

By all accounts if you register on a pc it pops up on the app, not 100% sure but believe both @Prepremcafcfan and @johnnybev1987 have played on the app if it helps. The reason we play lower stakes are so people that say they can't afford the bigger ones can play, but leaderboard points are at stake all the time unfortunately that sometimes isn't enough, there are trophies to be won. Survey had fortnightly coming out on top with a pretty even balance between those that wanted weekly and those monthly so went with the majority. I will always play if im about, problem is sometimes i have to play snooker cup matches on days im usually available and yesterday i shift swapped so couldn't make it.
In regards to playing on Phone/Tablet you can but not sure if you can register on it, so you have to make sure you pre-register which yesterday i didnt realise we had a game till i was at work so didn't get a chance to as probably could have made it for 8:45
My suggestion would be weekday scrap and always do on a sunday between 7-8:!5, i dont really mind what stakes and do think that is where we should mix it up to try and get new players etc.
I would suggest every other Sunday when its not footballl season as that day usually we get the most runners. Also thats the only day i am 99% that i can play

I think there is not enough games to be honest. I play in another on line league that is every thursday. It is only 6 dollars a week, but with the low buy in we always get about 20-25 runners. So the prize fund is still good. I think anyone who plays poker regular would play every week. I think sometimes the 2 week gap takes some of the intrest away, abit like when theres an international break in the footie. Just my opinion. Hope this helps.0

I totally agree. A two week gap does take away the interest especially if you can't make one. Sadie, I think you've tried everything to get all those registered to play more often. Internet poker amongst recreational players has, in my opinion, dropped in numbers across the board recently anyway. I think three or four years ago it was a fad that a lot of people got into but like all things those people moved on to something else when they realised that they couldn't make a quick buck without putting in the investment in time and cash. Not a comment about anyone who registered to play on here just an observation across the board.
I can't always play every tournament but I think a couple more turbos to move games along quicker would be worth considering. Also as midweek games are not as well attended as Sunday ones I'd make the midweek ones very low buy-ins and all the Sunday ones $11+. If after this the midweek ones are still not well supported then just have them on Sundays. Maybe a tad earlier to start (7.30) as they can go on but as you've said it's impossible to please everybody.0 -
I would actually like to Play, but I play football manager online both monday and Thursday nights. Tuesdays are good for me, so if everyone else wishes to re-schedule, it would be appreciated........................
