Just do not understand why we have not either brought in a decent loan or played Cousins at right back so we can play Wilson right mid. First Powell and now Riga, its just does not make sense.
Green please no not again jose and please replace church with sordell.

Spot on. If we can't find a decent right midfield, then it may be easier to find someone else to play right back, surely Nego can't be that bad ? Wilson, Morrisson and Cousins all know the right back position well, and could support Nego. Cousins may want to develop his game and play further forward then play right back, but needs must. Poyet could then play defensive midfield with Astrid ahead of him (442 only).

Failing that a loan right back but I am doubting that Roland would agree that as it is a bit of a slap in the face for his strategy and the players he has brought in. Is Roland an astute and big enough character to admit that his strategy needs adjustment ?

It shows how desperate we are when moving Wilson to right mid is something many of us are pushing for (including me). He is our best right midfielder but the attributes he brings there are more on the defensive side of things. I don't think he's the answer to our lack of creativity.

Wilson, not overly creative, but a least has a lot of energy and will push forward and put the opposing team under some pressue, cross/shoot etc. If we're not gonna add to the squad, something has to given a shot (no pun intended)

We'd have far more chance of actually scoring a goal if Wilson was playing RM. He likes to attack the box and has a good shot.

Is Koc worth a go...or has it not got that bad yet?

It can't be a coincidence that one of our best performances of the season was against Brighton, when Chris Solly played at RB and Lawrie Wilson played at right midfield.

Why can't we play 3-5-2,I'm sure Wiggins and Wilson could do the attacking full backs roll

If nego any good this would have happened but clearly even Jose don't want him , missing solly has taken away two players from team

  • We cant play Koc as he's in on a Youth Loan (means he cant play in competitive games)

Am sorry to say this but we're all saying X player should be played in Y position etc... but none of us see these guys in training, Nego isnt better than any of our midfielders so at Right Back Wilson has to play and in terms of a loanee...

    (1) Does anyone really THINK that RD is gonna sanction another Right-Back when he's already weakened Ujpest to give us one
    (2) We dont have an infinite number of loans that can be signed so is a Right-Back really that much of a priority ahead of a Creative Midfielder or Finisher

A right back would enable Wilson to become that elusive right midfield player. A decent right back is probably easier to find than a creative midfield player.

I'd be happy to try to get Luke Young on a short term loan, which would also give some experience.

Has anyone told Riga that Cousins used to play in defence ??? He probably doesn't know & if he did then he m,ay just play him there.

I felt on saturday that once the 2nd goal went in Riga was just trying different players in different positions hoping that something may click knowing that the game was lost. Hopefully even he has seen that Church has to be dropped.,

Riga probably doesn't even know what an effective right sided midfielder Wilson can be. Dyer and Matthew are unlikely to have vastly different ideas now, than they had when they were working with Powell.
  • Im still hoping for him to return to this postion but it may be bias since one of my rare trips to the Valley was the Brighton game, if Solly is fit for next season we will have a brilliant partnership down that right IMO.
