Just had a look at their results - had no idea they were on such a pitiful run. Last win was at home to Middlesbrough on 19 October. They have gone 13 games without a win including their cup defeat at home to Coventry, so Saturday could be their 13th league game without a win. Being a superstitious type I am extremely concerned about the all-round thirteen-ness of their current run, particularly as they are also awaiting their first win under Wilson. Seen it too many times before over the years - on a bad run? Desperate for a win? Come down to Charitable Charlton.

A quite unbelievable 2-1 defeat, incorporating a missed penalty, a did-it-cross-the-line-or-not, one off the post, two off the crossbar, and a sickening, blatantly offside, late winner for the Tykes.

Not quite. Their last win was in the beginning of December: www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/25098364

My mistake, missed that when I was looking down their results. So with the 13-Factor removed I look forward to a comprehensive 3-0 home victory!

We only seem to do well against teams above us, so I think this'll be much more tense than you think. 2-1 us is my prediction
  • 2-o as a new era begins with a determined home win.

We just have to win, to keep the optimism flowing. A tight game, but I think we will win 2-1.
  • Barnsley to rain on our parade! Boring game to be capped by an offside goal for the Tykes as we defend deep for the last 43 minutes.
  • What with the 6-0 and all, there's a few too many goals against Barnsley on the site to post here.

Here's Church's great finish back towards the start of the season --> http://plentyofshots.wordpress.com/2014/01/09/simon-church-goal-vs-barnsley/

My favourite goal of the 6-0 --> http://plentyofshots.wordpress.com/2013/04/13/johnnie-jackson-goal-vs-barnsley/

The rest of the 6-0 goals are on the site if anyone wishes to watch them all. A great day!

Fingers crossed we start the RD era off well on Saturday.

3-1 home victory. Hope the players have been told not to spit on the pitch as this could lead to the match being abandoned. Buckets placed along the touchline should solve the problem.

I can't go. I'm having to go to Quaser in Bromley for my youngest son's birthday party. Still, to paraphrase Saul in Breaking Bad, at least I get to shoot kids.

Do we know if Roland D is attending - perhaps we will prefer watching his other team playing Borussia Dortmund in the warmth of La Manga?

I don't like these games- the ones where teams set out to frustrate us. I think they are harder than when we play better teams that try to beat us. But these are the games we have to learn to win, so let's see if we can come up with something tomorrow. What we are missing is that quality in the final third, an area where there won't be much time and space. How do we crack that, with basically the same players who haven't cracked it to date - a close game methinks - If we get the opener we'll get more- as long as we look for more- If not a draw or a narrow defeat!

Unlucky. It all sounds like fun before you go in, but it gets pretty boring after 5 minutes. Then you realise you've got another game booked later. Well, that's my experience from many years ago anyway.

    Six pointer this.

Whatever happens we must avoid defeat. A win would be heavenly.
  • If we win i don't think barnsley can recover
