Alnwick - 7 Not at fault for either goals. Distribution looked better.
Wilson - 5 Looked clumsy at times but had no one in front of him to play off.
Morrision - 6 Looked better than at Reading, winning more balls in the air.
 Dervite - 7 Solid.
Wiggins - 8 MOM Links up very well with Stewart, made some excellent runs and crucial tackles.
Stewart - 7.5 Great goal and assist. Beat his man most times comfortably.
Cousins - 6 Looked a bit light weight.
Jackson - 6.5 Hard working but unlucky with sending off.
Stephens 6 - Start to get nervous when he has the ball around our box. Worked hard second half with a lot of chasing back.
Kermorgant 6 - Spent most of the first half on the floor. Got better second half, still not match fit.
church 6 - Lots of the running as usual. What does Sordell have to do to get a chance?

Alnwick -7: very sound - good handling of crosses throughout, which is bound to infuse confidence into the back four. He also and held onto a few awkward low shots, with forwards running in looking for any rebound
Wilson - 6: ok - didn't really get forward to any effect
Morrision - 6: steady enough defensively but his distribution is poor and the long punts upfield nearly always concede possession
Dervite - 7: won a lot of headers and moved the ball well out of defence
Wiggins - 9:MOM. Back to his best - tenacious, speedy and bags of energy. Saved an almost certain goal in the second half with a superb sliding tackle
Stewart - 8: responsible for our attacking best moments
Cousins - 7: another very competent and responsible performance. Does everything very well and covers an enormous amount of ground for us; he also covers that ground to good and purposeful effect
Jackson - 6: a danger in the opposition area and chalked up another goal, but not sure he can really cover enough ground in the engine room
Stephens - 6: a quieter game than of late
Kermorgant - 5.5: a few nice touches but didn't contribute enough. I hope it is lack of match sharpness and that he is not developing prima donna tendencies
church - 5.5: one decent effort in the second half but too easily dispossessed and didn't really threaten the opposition0

            Alnwick - 7.5 Superb handling.
Wilson - 7 For the most part he defended well.
Morrision - 7.5 Lots of interceptions and marked Miller well. Unlucky with the OG.
Dervite - 7.5 Very good in the air and tried to use the ball sensibly.
Wiggins - 8.5 Looks like he could play at a higher level.
Stewart - 8 Two two major contributions. Has masses of potential.
Cousins - 7 Very steady and was missed late on.
Jackson - 6 Nice to see him in the box again. Did get pulled back but the lunge was daft and a deserved red.
 Stephens - 6.5 Steady.
Kermorgant - 6 Plenty of decent little passes but gave the ball away at 2-1 which ultimately led to the goal. Wish he'd shoot more.
Church - 6 Usual hard-working game and was impressed with his movement.0

It wasn't Dervite who conceded the penalty. It was Andy Hughes.0

Alnwick 8. First time i've seen him. Impressed
Wilson 6.5. Did ok. As said didn't get forward enough/at all
Morrision 7.5. Thought he had a good game. After about an hour the whole team started to " lump it forward"
Dervite. Looked ok. Couldn't see penalty from where I was
Wiggins. 8.5 Getting back to his best
Stewart 8. Played well. Dangerous, Goal and assist. Also a great 1st half shot that brought an amazing save from their keeper
Cousins 7.5. Did holding job well.
Jackson 7. Not a bad game. Poor tackle. Can't complain about Red
Stephens 8. Can't aggee with others. Shows how we see games differently, Cultured, class, good distribution and made plenty of tackles
Kermorgant 6. No real threat. Not at his best. Poor service. Too many balls hit in the air to him. Yeovil centre half looked about 6 ft 8
church 6 . Tried. Doesn't look strong enough. Unlucky with overhead kick. If Sordell can't get in ahead of this guy, then he does have problems.
Powell 4. Wrong tactics. Totally in control for an hour, but we needed a third goal. Yeovil got lucky eith og, and we nearly ended ip losing. 2 points lost. Should have won from 2-0 up.0

Alnwick - 7. Neither goal he could do anything about
Wilson - 6 Looked like he was told not to get too far forward
Morrison - 7 Not really troubled. Could do nothing about the OG
Dervite - 7 Not really troubled either as Miller psent most of time on the floor
Wiggins - 8 MOM - the lad has one hell of an engine, not troubled at the back and was dangerous going forward.
Stewart - 8 Found the space after half an hour on the left and caused them no end of problems. Shame we couldn't get the ball to him more often
 Cousins - 7 Solid
Jackson - looking more match fit since his injury. Worked hard, always avaialbe, great tackle that resulted in the red card
Stephens - 7 Quiter game than recently
Kermorgant - 5 Not his usual self. Looked slightly disinterested and I think is worried about ankle
Church - 6 Huffs, puffs, makes great runs. Tripped over the only real chance he had.
 Unlucky with the overhead kick.0

Dumb post of the week - of course it would have been nice to have got the third goal - there was a good save from Church, drive from Cousins and a scrambled corner that was boggling about. In hindsight everybody thinks Powell should have done something different.Melrose said:

Dumb post eh Redman! Just trying to give an insight to people who weren't there. Think Powell got tatics wrong and we started playing too deep. Not just in hindsight, said it at the time. Sorry if you're not open to debate/conjecture on what is after all a football forum site0

Given they threw a two nil lead away I am being generous with the points.

            Alnwick - 8 - Solid (MoM)
Wilson - 6 - Seems to have lost his attaching ability?
Morrision - 6.5 - Just about controlled Miller
Dervite - 7 - Won lots in the air
Wiggins - 7.5 - Good game and one fabulous goal-saving tackle near the end
Stewart - 7.5 - When he had the ball, he was great, but double-teamed much of the time so sometimes anonymous
Cousins - 8 - Very good again; hope the injury is not too bad! All went pears shaped when he went off...
Jackson - 6 - Gave his all (again) but his sending off cost us any chance of getting back into the game
Stephens - 6.5 - Some very good passes but below his best
Kermorgant - 6 - Great effort but whatever he tried falied to work on the day
Church - 6 - Ran about a lot again and unlucky with overhead kick, but little else to mention
Hughes was poor, but Solly got involved and looks like he could be back by Xmas.

Why use the "players" marks to give a rather one sided view - certainly not an insight. These wrong tactics had got us a 2-0 lead, weathered the inevitable Yeovil storm after half time when they made 2 attacking changes and given us some chances to get that 3rd goal. Do you give Powell any marks for that. How about also some credit for him seeing something in the first half which made him switch wings Stewart and Jackson. The first goal was Stewart cutting in from the left (his changed position). The second was Stewart on the left wing crossing to Jackson coming in from the right. When Cousins went off injured I did not hear one person think that bringing on Hughes was the wrong move.Melrose said:Dumb post eh Redman! Just trying to give an insight to people who weren't there.
