Think he is back:
Danny green @dannygreen_7
Just wanted to say a massive thanks to @MKDonsFC and the fans. Great club, enjoyed my time there and I hope you get promoted this season!

From MK Dons forum on yesterdays match
"Danny Green - 6
Made a bright start and should have won a free kick early in the match just outside the area, but received a yellow card having added a theatrical dive instead of staying on his feet. Faded as the match went on and became pretty anonymous by the end. Has had the odd good performance during his time at Milton Keynes, but hasn't really met the expectations that he arrived with. Returns to Charlton and is unlikely to come back."
So no change there then0 -
No surprises there. He was a frustrating player for us in League 1, never mind the Championship.0
-
Harsh judgement from the Dons fans that doesn't mention his assist from a free kick yesterday.
Don't rate him but if we are playing a diamond that Green could play at the top of it. Doubt he has the defensive discipline when we are under pressure though.
Expect to see him back out on loan soon.0 -
I think more than anything this is what's going to keep him out of the team for the foreseeable future. We have periods of dominance but very rarely do we boss a game from beginning to end and when we're inevitably under the cosh we end up defending with eleven men and trying to soak up pressure. Not sure Green has the speed and dedication to put in a defensive shift, and I seem to remember him giving away some free kicks with dodgy tackling before.Henry Irving said:Harsh judgement from the Dons fans that doesn't mention his assist from a free kick yesterday.

He'll end up back at Dagenham making headlines with Dicko.0
-
I don't like to say I told you so but...0

Got to get him off the wage bill somehow. Definite ability on the ball but just won't do the defensive work with enough nous. Puts him in the luxury player category even at a lower level than Championship and that would make him unattractive to most clubs.0

He'd be more threatening than Harriott of late in the final third , not that that's saying much0
-
I think I have to agree with you; it's worth a try. Green's lack of defensive abilities hardly matter compared to Harriott's profligacy with possession. And Green has got a fierce and accurate shot on him - on a good day.oohaahmortimer said:He'd be more threatening than Harriott of late in the final third , not that that's saying much

Fierce maybe, but accurate? The closest he seemed to get was the wood work!Viewfinder said:oohaahmortimer said:He'd be more threatening than Harriott of late in the final third , not that that's saying much

Not sure what's happened to Harriot. Perhaps he's been charltonised or didn't appreciate time out of the team. He was terrorising teams down that side last year.oohaahmortimer said:He'd be more threatening than Harriott of late in the final third , not that that's saying much

That "good day" I referred to was in July 2011, pre-season at Welling, when Green cut in from the right and scored with a rasping drive. You're right: he rattled the bar with a similar effort against Orient in the League Cup last year.Redrobo said:

As we are talking about Green.....we have to mention Waggy; (it's in the rules).
He would have been the ideal player to play at the tip of the diamond and did know where the goal was. The exact position I did say I thought would be his best position. Oh well!0 -
My thoughts also but surely CS in the pecking order first. Still surprised Callum lasted full 90 yesterday.Viewfinder said:

CS? I'd drop Harriott and give Danny Green another (last?) chance. But I'd forbid him from taking corners!EastTerrace said:

Oh yes, I'd forgotten about him! As you say, give him a proper go before resorting to Danny Green....EastTerrace said:

Am I the only person who thinks Jordan Cook deserves a shot in a diamond formation? Thought he dis well vs Oxford, and this formation suits him I think. Not sure why Green goes ahead of him, and Callum was woeful on Saturday...0
-
Was I imagining that only a few weeks ago we were screaming for Harriot to come on as sub when he was left out of the starting lineup? And now we want to bring Danny Green in ahead of him? Un-effing-believable!oohaahmortimer said:He'd be more threatening than Harriott of late in the final third , not that that's saying much

Danny green knows how to shoot at goal and one thing are arnt doing as much as we should be! i know Wilson cousins and Stephens shoot but green has a great shot on him0
-
I know its all about opinions but Danny Green....
He is league 2 level, as shown by being completely hopeless for us this season, and marginally less hopeless for MK Dons.
Dagenham by July 2014 unless they go up0 -
But not about scoring. He shoots when he is way out and there are better options. danny is an outstanding player when he is not in the team, as soon as he is reality sets in, sadly.uie2 said:Danny green knows how to shoot at goal and one thing are arnt doing as much as we should be! i know Wilson cousins and Stephens shoot but green has a great shot on him

League One, League Two.... Green, Harriott, Pigott, Pritchard.... They may still be with us when Colchester, Shrewsbury, Port Vale and Walsall come looming over the horizon....Southendaddick said:I know its all about opinions but Danny Green....

Just a pity that every one of his "fizzing" shots is straight at the keeper.............uie2 said:Danny green knows how to shoot at goal and one thing are arnt doing as much as we should be! i know Wilson cousins and Stephens shoot but green has a great shot on him

Always liked green untill his brother went on a twitter rant about "knowing football"... lost all time for him really.
As a player ,He isn't good enough for Charlton.0 -
I personally prefer Green to Pritch if Powell plays with a RM it should be Green but the 4-1-2-1-2 with Cousins in front of back 4 and Harriott given a free role behind the strikers looks very good0
