Interesting post on Glynne' s mailing list

"xxxxx and I spoke to Yann yesterday . He told us he has an ankle injury and doesn't know when he will be back. Surely the answer is to get a similar player in on loan until Yann is fit. Just as an aside. Jiminez spent most of the match yesterday on his phone or talking to the bloke next to him. No interest in the match what so ever. Slater wasn't there again. Beggars belief. What chance does CP have with these two."

Jiminez can use a phone. I'm gobsmacked.
  • Just like most of the population then, can't live 5 mins without a phonecall, text or update status.

Who is Glynne? Perhaps Jimenez was saying on the phone: "Sell, sell, sell!" I'm not sure that managers want their chairmen at the match, noting all the failings on the pitch and sticking their oar in.

Was a pretty dull game tbf
  • What sort of bloke goes to a football match and spends most of the time watching another bloke on the phone or talking to the person sitting next to him ?

Not sure why Jiminez being on the phone and Slater not even being present would have any effect on Powell

I'd be more worried if Dyer spent all match on the phone and Powell did not turn up. Since those two can't effect play on match days i really don't care if they turn up or talk on the phone all through the match. It would be nice to have owners that saw the club as something more than a financial investment (one that is going south rapidly at the moment) but that option went out of the window when Murray had to sell to someone.

There is a lot more serious stuff we can beat these two about than not showing up at matches.
  • Perhaps Slater was ill and Jiminez was on the phone giving him live commentary............

Actually I thought the more interesting aspect was Yann' s injury. And that TJ was there at all.

Yes I agree. I kinda suspected it could be a few weeks .. hopefully the international break will help, but that will mean even then 4 weeks without competitive football, so he may well be pretty rusty when he does come back.

The person who wrote this wasn't called Colin Sams by any chance ?

No it wasn't. You can tell by the fact that this guy recognises CP might actually be competent to do his job in normal circumstances . Actually this poster isn't somebody I normally take much notice of either, but in this case he's reporting what he's seen and heard.

Cantona will be back for the Blackburn game.

It's the little fella we should be a bit more worried about.

Can't be good for TJ the way we are going, knocking a million off the asking price every time the phone rings...

So Yann's injured - we know - and Jiminez was on his phone.

Where does the 'interesting' part of the thread title come into this?

I'm concerned about Yann - broke his ankle last year - if it is same ankle this time then it suggests he now has a weakness there.

maybe TJ does care about the club and has set up his phone as one of those mucky chat lines that cost £1 a min to try and raise funds for CP to spend in jan?
  • This is interesting like Saturday's match was interesting.
