this plastic pitch malarky

how can uefa give it the ok to be used for euro qualifying games, yet insist that a grass pitch be laid for this seasons champions league final?

  • They make it up as they go along
  • Why are we playing on a plastic pitch anyway, didn't they play Croatia on grass about a month ago?

Size of the ground, they played Croatia in a ground with a 33k capcity, while this stadium holds 84,000
  • It shouldn't make any difference, the pitch is going to play better than most grass pitches, particularly many of the eastern european pitches england have played on in the last few qualifying campaigns. Will be a lot lot better than the sand pitch at stampford bridge and terry, lumpolard and cole had no trouble ripping us apart on that.
  • must be to do with when their pitches start freezing, about now I'd reckon.
  • Been snowing in Moscow for the last 4 days
  • If Rocky can fight out there, we can kick a ball. Same for both teams, get on with it !
  • regardless of weather conditions, they should play all qualifying matches on the same surface, either all on plastic or none on plastic. It's scandolous they have got away with it.

If it was on grass and the ground got frozen we'd be bloody moaning that

"there is a plastic pitch - why can't we play on that?"
  • next time we play them, maybe we should play them at Goals in Bexleyheath??
