Whether he's 10 or not there is still a standard to be set otherwise I would have asked gritty to put my daughter in.
They shouldn't start playing fo academies till 11, just train in my opinion. They should play with their mates at their Sunday clubs and enjoy. 11/12 is when they begin their adult development and should be judged then not 8/9/10.
Clubs will always 'miss' out on players at 9/10 as you cant have every player signing academy terms because of budget.
