Agree with that to an extent, i.e. if you are in a position to do something about it at the time then you should. But what if you're not - either there at the time or in a position to do anything about it.SE10 said:If I saw someone do something that upset me that much, I'd pull them up at the time not send emails and videos etc about it a few days later.
Don't get me wrong. I'm no angel and have done and witnessed a few "iffy" things in the past. But if I ever got pulled up on it I would know that any "fault" was mine for doing what I did in the first place - which I would live with - not somebody else's for doing what they thought was the right thing to do and reporting my misdemeanor.
Would be different if it was a mate or family though, regardless of whether that's right or wrong.0 -
Ridiculous analogy. I dont buy the "never grass under any circumstances" line in examples like the above but dont see how telling tales on a drunken idiot who chucked a seat that didnt hit anyone (thankfully) and probably regrets it massively is gonna make the world a better place for our children.ShootersHillGuru said:So somebody breaks into your house and clears you out. Your neighbour who is looking out the window sees the robbers and recognises one of them. I bet all you that suggest grassing is embarrassing would be squealing like stuck pigs if the neighbour kept schtum and you found out. Double standards and moronic views.
Applying extreme analogies to what actually happened is silly....like me saying that you would report an old woman that parked on a double yellow line a week later to a traffic warden.

Bit of a difference to a burgulary and throwing a plastic seat that never hit anyone though eh?ShootersHillGuru said:So somebody breaks into your house and clears you out. And what on earth would grassing up someone who's probably feeling embarassed enough after the video etc achieve?0 -

Didn't do it at the time though as she looked "handy".0 -
But what about if the chewing gum ended up in your hair? I'd demand nothing less than the electric chair for the ****!SE10 said:
If you're going to use that as an example then I'd say no but scraping a bit of chewing gum off the floor then grassing the person up who threw it is.Off_it said:Is putting something in a bin doing a road sweepers job for them and embarrassing?

Flare on the pitch in the city game0

Agree but I'd be a lot more pissed off if I found out it was a fellow fan that had gone to the trouble of filming me throw a plastic seat or send a letter grassing me up rather than just getting a tug of the met.Off_it said:

You both show exactly what I meant. Double standards. It fits your warped sense of right and wrong exactly when it suits. The real problem is that you have no concept of what actually could have happened if "just a seat" had actually hit someone. The irresponsible idiot that threw it was drunk ? Obviously he had no idea where it was going. Lets hope the next time he gets pissed up he doesn't decide to throw another seat or missile that hit you or yours. If I knew his identity I would " grass" if only to stop the moron from actually injuring someone next time.

Give the chair thrower another chance or make an example so that the next
prickidiot that gets pissed and thinks about lobbing a chair might think twice rather than just lobbing it.....
Who knows the next one might land on my sons head or with a bit of luck someone elses kid/mum/sisters head or even just misses everyone then we're all happy

The law should be changed and like a safe standing area there should be a safe flare and smoke bomb area

Couldnt care less if it is double standards. Said it before but I don't get my moral compass from posters on internet football forums. You are welcome to your view on what is right or wrong and I too am able to view you as a warped moron just as you imply you see me.ShootersHillGuru said:RodneyCharltonTrotta said:

Live your life how you see fit but spare the lectures as they fall on deaf ears. Its a football forum not sunday school.0 -

Only criminals "grass"
Law abiding citizens report incidents to the appropriate authorities.0 -
Great idea, i think in some European countries the clubs actually provide flare and smoke grenade holdersnth london addick said:The law should be changed and like a safe standing area there should be a safe flare and smoke bomb area

Enough people around him could have stopped him whilst he was smashing the chair up but didn't. Probably all thought it was hilarious at the time and are now upset because it's been mentioned in the programme. What's the point of the what ifs? "What if someone got hit? What if someone robbed your house? What if all the members of this forum went to to every game and did more than clap and complain?" Grow up.0

Choice
If you know any of the clubs that do let me know and i will email cafc and get them to follow it up
Makes much more sense than telling tales0 -
Now what's gonna happen to all those smokebombs ?0
-
I am gonna still let them off every game but to
Out fox those silly cctv operators i am going to wear disguises and sit in different seats every game
Alternatively i will let them off in the nth upper bogs where you can smoke what you want when you want0 -
Doesn't matter guys already sent the video link to the club, he should be getting a call from the club.0
-
No flies on you0
-
Massive overreaction . I like the flares and I'm an old Git ! ( 44 anyway )0
-
Hope Palace have faced a similar inquisition after the match at the Valley?0
-
our seat allocation at the toolbox will now be reduced to 3599. plus the toilets will be locked, you will have to wait till you leave0
-
The facts are (to me at least) this:
A CAFC supporter broke a seat and threw it onto the pitch.
A CAFC supporter threw a smoke bomb.
A CAFC supporter threw a flare onto the pitch.
A/Some CAFC supporters smashed up the toilets.
I don't know if it was the same or many different supporters involved.
CAFC have now recieved a letter/e-mail saying further action will be taken.
By "Association", I, and ALL CAFC supporters are involved.
Whether you were there or not (I wasn't) it hasn't helped anyone involved with CAFC, and, personaly I think the "fans" involved were wrong to carry out such actions. But, as everyone says, surely I'm allowed my opinion.
(Oh, and I think the Lib was open pre-match last time v.spanners, but not after).0
