Apparently matalan will be knocked down next and 3 new units taking its place, one being marks and Spencer's.

They would need to have done a deal with Greenwich Council to redevelop the Valley to pay for a new stadium. Unless they decided to build on established new green spaces at the Peninsula, there doesn't look to be an appropriately big enough site and transport/parking would be a massive problem. The current redevelopment plus for the housing numbers that could get anywhere near 10,000 are the piece from the current ASDA complex back to the Thames Barrier and this is already fully planned with no space or consideration for a stadium. The Council have already been served a massive lesson from taking Charlton supporters on and I am not sure Councillor Roberts & Co would want a repeat showing - he is a Charlton fan after all.
  • Bumping a very old thread here, but it seems to make more sense than starting a new one...

Do any Lifers live in the new developments on the peninsula? Seen a flat there (Lower Riverside) and wondering what it's like to live there. Anything to be wary of?

    Cheers.

It's probably OK but will you want to still live there when our new Australian owners move us in next door?
