    Absolutely fantastic project.

I think we can almost guarantee no comment from Ormiston and his long distance hatred of Boris!

Oh come on Floyd, give it a rest. It's one of the few bad things about this place, the tendency of certain people to carry on their tedious squabbles across numerous different threads. Please don't turn into another one of those.
  • Went on it this morning - got some good views and its well worth a visit. Would like to try it out at nightime.
Definitely give it another go. Only problem is its over too quickly - apparently they slow it down when less busy.

Anyone who has been on this could you please confirm how much it is, wanna take the girls on it next sunday? Got oyster cards for me and the FPO and both littluns are under 4?

Went on the clipper up to Southbank yesterday and the cable car is right above the pier thingy, looks the nuts.

    Cheers

Following on from what i was saying about it looking the nuts, i thought the whole of london that i saw from the boat looked the nuts, the Olympic rings from Tower bridge was pukka as well. Both times the boat was rammed as well, good sign.

  • Royal Victoria Dock and Excel centre plus a few restaurants are on the other side. If you take young children they should travel free.

£3.20 single & £6.40 return with an oyster card.
  • On the other side the new Siemens exhibition centre is opening very soon, supposed to be bringing together the greatest minds on sustainability together, apparently it's an interactive building people can wander around etc. It's called the Crystal and is supposed to be pretty impressive.

Went on it last night, and it was great fun. You do not need a boarding pass (!) if you have an Oyster card (£3.20 one way), just go straight to the entry gates and by-pass the ticket queues. Got an car to ourselves (my wife and I) as not very busy at all...Excellent views of the docks, river, O2, and Olympic sites. Was windy but not much rocking. North side hub is at Royal Victoria DLR (not Excel!), and south side is between O2 and the old Beckham academy. Enjoy!
MCS - read my earlier post! Don't queue up, just go straight to the barriers with your Oyster cards to get on. Ask the attendant for a car to yourselves and they will let you have one if not too busy. There is stuff to do on the other (north) side but not loads. You could always get the DLR back through docklands then the Jubbly line from Canary Wharf to North Greenwich if you didn't like the cable car going north...

Going on Thursday, am v looking forward to it.

MCS you could always also get the DLR back to Woolwich to jump on the train to Belvedere from there rather than as suggested. If you're not driving that is.

Oit west side story naff orf im ok with all the travel stuff now!! I went to borough meerkat on my own dont ya know!

I went to westfield, change at woolwich to the dlr, and back via north greenwich.

Good idea about woolwich B, were meeeting up with some mates and going on the cable car together, prob a round trip and then grub in the dome! Is there a DLR station near where you get orf northside?

Most people don't get trapped in London Bridge for two days though ;-)

I suppose with kids the Dome has more kiddy friendly restaurants but if you prefer to get back to nearer home before pubbing it, the Dial Arch in the Royal Arsenal does a brilliant roast dinner and there is a grassed area outside for the kids to run about. and has some superb ales to try out, so they say.

Not cheap in there though! Some yummy mummys though.

Its not cheap but us Charlton fans can afford the finer things in life. :-)

My pint of peroni is near 4 quid in there but I love it. Get the boat home and straight in there.

I think the whole roast chicken platter which serves 2 isn't too bad at 21 quid since its the best in the area (which isnt saying much as there's sod all about).

Anyone know, if I buy a travelcard from out of town, is the cable car included on that as part of the regular transport network or will I still have to pay?

On that first BBC link it says not included as part of a travelcard
