  • Replacement for Gillesphey? - Jones unimpressed after Saturday?
  • Left footed centre back - competition for Macca
  • I think he’s going to get the nickname, Buckethead!
  • Welcome Tom

McIntyre made his Portsmouth debut four days after signing for the club, in the 4-1 home win against Northampton Town. McIntyre was shown a straight red card by referee Sam Purkiss in the 54th minute for a 50/50 challenge with Northampton's Mitch Pinnock, however this card (and the subsequent three match ban) was rescinded on appeal. McIntyre received a fractured ankle due to the weight of the challenge and missed the rest of Portsmouth's promotion-winning campaign

  • So there's the reason we allowed Zach to go out on loan

    Not been confirmed yet.
  • Ha, the ‘reveal’ was the equivalent of Masked singer when the panel guess a series of A listers and the head comes off and it’s Joel shouts a name no one has ever heard of!

    Welcome Tom!
  • Can cover Coventry as well

Still trying to get the bucket off his head?

  • Pompey mate says looks lost in the Championship but should be good at League One level, needs game time & likes to play out from the back
  • Comments from Pompey fans aren't exactly positive to say the least but hopefully he's alright in this league.
  • He’s not come to sit on the bench. Welcome Tom
  • Didn't think we'd sign a defender, good news but still hoping of for a pacey winger/striker alternative to Small and TC.

Assume he was decent for Reading having been there a while and moving to Pompey in their promotion year, but for whatever reason the move hasn't worked out. Anyone know why? Injuries or better players ahead of him?
  • Not exactly been an outstanding successes for Portsmouth only 13 appearances for them this season. A team that is struggling.

  • He has to be better than Gillesphey, right?
  • Happy with that. Gillesphey is too accident prone to be the only option as the left centre back.
  • As Callum said on Saturday... If McIntyre does replace Gillesphey I hope we dont miss out on his punt up field, as it is turning into a bit of a weapon for us, unfortunately Gillesphey in defence is a potential weapon for the opposition

So to cover/challenge Gillesphey we get.... Discount brand Gillesphey basically.

    Not feeling super optimistic here.

Upgrade on Potts. Competes with Gillesphey. Also takes Z Mitchell's role of being able to cover midfield at a push given we have lost Taylor and Campbell as cover there. Can then afford to allow Zach out on loan as we are much better stocked for options at RCB than LCB (A Mitchell, Ramsay, REG).

No, but he's also made over 100 appearances for Reading with almost all of them being in the Championship.

Still having said that we all need to have our fingers crossed that we don't get a CM injury between now and the end of the season. 4 players for 3 spots in the side plus a couple of bit-parts who can fill in isn't exactly decent cover. When you think we have 6 players for 2 roles up top. 4 for 2 wing back spots, 6 for 3 at CB. It is an area of the pitch that worries me. One player get a 3 month injury and were resigned to the same CM make up every game.

Edit: forgot about Gilbert already. Still not sure I would want Berry playing one of the deeper roles..

I might be wrong but I think when he went to Pompey Reading fans thought he would be a loss for them? Probably an idea to go on what they say as well.

Not that it makes too much of a difference, let's see how he does here.

Personally a bit underwhelmed and hope there is more incoming.
  • Let’s hope REG hasn’t nicked a bucket
