  • Why are EPL not playing? Always played on NYD in the past?
  • Someone posted the ball wasn’t rolling in the centre circle. You can’t play when the pitch is like that. It is not the rain,it is the standing water.
If the forecast was rain for another two hours, the pitch was never gonna recover enough to start/finish on playable conditions
  • On a positive note should be able to make the rearranged game.
  • Not even any local Non League games on 4G pitches you could have got to in time. Horsham away,Three Bridges away. Nearest would have been a dash down here to Worthing and that's a bit of a trek

    * Whitehawk was abandoned*

They have to have gaps of 4 days (maybe just over festive period?) so the extended boxing day schedule has messed things up a bit
  • Non league Woking are at home just 30 miles from Crawley and they have managed to play. Sometimes now in my opinion refs are just too keen to call games off.
Is that King Woke or do I have that back to front?

Better call it off now then. Forecasts are never wrong.

Best get the face masks out then.

Large Addick, so we now call off matches based on a forecast, which was forecast yesterday?....."An early inspection would have made no difference. According to NJ it was playable, the ref postponed because of the forecast as to what may or may not have happened."....  My point was relating to the travelling fans on a bank holiday, If the pitch is so 'fragile' that rain for an hour or so before a  game 'waterlogged the pitch', god help any game in January and February on that pitch then!
It was frozen pitches that cause injury in my experience.

I know its only Nathan's word, but if the referee has called it off because of the forecast, rather than the conditions - Why wait so long then?
I don't know how you can call off a game because of what might happen.

Surely you start the match & then abandon it if needs be.
Golfie, if you start the game in these conditions and then have to call it off then you do that because the ball is not moving or it's become a risk to the players, also just suppose one of the sides had taken a two nil lead and the game got called off after 45 mins, the angst on here would be far worse.
A lot of people seem to have forgotten the Donny game at The Valley a few years ago. Probably fortunate for us in the end that it was abandoned at half time, but it certainly wasn’t for Donny who got relegated on goal difference at the end of the season.  Shit decision for the fans who made the trip, but that doesn’t mean that it’s wrong.

The game was called off at 4.45 when it was HT !
    A complete lottery.
Also many decades ago a game at Orient was postponed at HT because Orient wanted to sell FA cup tickets before the match so again a lottery of 45 minutes took place.

Look our two new signings from the Championship will be able to play in the rearranged match. 👏🏻

We have an ageing fan base so of course their going to moan; it's what seniors and middle age people do 🗣️👴🏻
I suffer with insomnia so I'm always a 'woke' 👍🏻

    Can't help yourself can you.
  • Stockport making a game of it against Bham.

Just shows what a tough league this is, and what a poor early season we had.

  • I've seen some clips of the 2.15pm pitch inspection and it looks like just a general walk to check quality. Why didn't they have the footballs out then testing the surface? I've been told getting the players out can sometimes help but in my view if the ball isn't moving well at 2.15pm the forecast was only going to get worse so could of called it then? I understand the ref "giving it every chance" but 20 mins before kick off is way to late in my opinion
  • Booooo back down to 11th... Just not good enough!!
  • 2 games in hand over Barnsley in 6th with a 6 point gap as it stands. Just need to keep picking up points and come out of this month stronger. Have a feeling we'll sneak in.

    No Premier League news please.
  • Leyton Orient beginning to irritate me

Surely that's an argument for when games are called off early, not last minute.

Sorry agim but what difference would calling it off at 2.15 made to calling it off at 2.40 ? If it's called off on the morning of the game then there is a chance to stop fans traveling, 2.15, or 2.40, don't see it matters.

We found a cracking pub (Goffs Manor) and a superb lunch - walked in ground at exact time it was called off - very poor by Ref to leave it until then - I’m actually not that fussed, as watching football in these conditions is no fun at all
    Remember Yeovil?
Me and a mate still talk about that game when we used to go to Away Games

    Has legendary status that match
That open end behind the goal where we were standing, took the full brunt of the wind driven deluge. But we all sang on.

Except those who took refuge in the C.L I.T coach at half time 🙃

Hope you managed to get the hood up 👍🏻
Surprised they found it, with all the damp patches about.

You watch where those huskies go...
  • Stockport equalise against Brum
  • Stockport 1-1 Birmingham... the former deserve that equaliser, but Jay Stansfield has been so wasteful up the other end of the pitch the last 5-mins

What a ball in that was
  • Reading 3-1 up at Cambridge with all 3 of their goals scored by ex Cambridge players - brace for Harvey Knibbs and the third from Sam Smith
