    Just got up.

Jesus. 177 run lead. I noticed there were no ducks in their innings. In fact no single figure scores. What did we have... 4  ??

    I’ll give it 3 overs before we’re 1 down

The sad things is, I’m probably being optimistic there

For the first time in the Series we've survived the first over without losing a wicket and the first time both of our openers are off the mark too. Little victories and all that.

Both openers avoid a duck. It’s a moral victory.
  • Looks like an absolute road

Stark going at over 7 an over suggests the pitch may be slightly shit.

This over sums up Zak's career nicely.  Glorious shots, then gets carried away and flails at the wrong ball.

Luckily for the Aussies, we are very good at giving away unnecessary wickets!

No single figure scores in our second innings either, so all is good there.

Sounds like we could have done with a bowler who specialises in mopping up the tail, if only we had one of those

Good start but what do we reckon?
3 down by close of play ?

Luck not going England's way. Under edge clatters into the stumps.

    Thats the first one gone.

Just seen the reply......kept very low.

A one off or a sign that the wicket is not a road.

That delivery could be as much a worry for the Aussies as us providing we can get a lead of 200 plus.

Boland looking really dangerous.  In these conditions you don't just need bang it in bowlers, Woakes would have been effective here

Totally agree but just can’t see us getting another 300 here

Crawley just cant stop himself can he. Slashing at ones that he should just leave alone. Surely an opener's job is to set a base for the middle order to take advantage of. Not get a quick 30 & get out

Stop chasing wide deliveries from Stark ffs.
  • Same from Pope now, wafting at a wide one from Starc.

    Leave it!!  See Starc off!!

Pope caught and bowled Neser for 26 (32). Sadly, it was coming.

    90-2

The end of an unconvincing innings by Pope. He never looked settled.

Crazy, see off Starc and then do that to Neser

Pressure on Root to stop him taking his guard outside the crease with Carey standing up from his very first ball.
