Colchester and Orient aren't technically through yet. However Colchester are currently 3-0 up on Arsenal U21's with half an hour left. If Arsenal were to come back in that one, it would change things.
Also means currently 0 Under 21 sides through in the South. In the North Manchester United and Aston Villa are through as things stand. But a Huddersfield goal against Manchester United U21's in the last half hour would change that.
Out of that Southern section only the possibility of Wimbledon away would see me bother attending one of these games, been to all the other grounds. With a very winnable Southern section you just know it'll be Birmingham at home next who will then probably beat us and then draw Wimbledon away the round after.

Competition Format
Bristol Street Motors Trophy fixturing remains regionalised until the Quarter-Final stage.
From Round of 32 phase to the Semi-Finals, no extra time shall be played. The winners shall be determined by penalty kicks.
Extra time will apply only in the Final if the result is level after ninety minutes’ duration. A period of 30 minutes will be played. If still equal the winner is then decided by penalties.
I know people take the piss out of this competition - but if we got to Wembley we'd all be going and it would be a decent little earner for the club.
The prize money is better than the Carabao Cup and, lets be honest, we are one of the biggest clubs in the tournament so certainly have a realistic chance of winning it.

Not many will travel outside of London for it though
So home to one of Orient, Northampton, Swindon or Reading if I've understood that correctly.

I went to the Bromley home game and have seen similar games in previous years.
It's £10 and I enjoyed the games even if the most recent one was a bit dull. You get to see some younger players too.
I'll be there at Wembley but I'd still much rather we were in a higher division so didn't have to take part.
So, at the end of the day 3 out of the 4 teams that we play in the knockout stage are in our division and who we play twice a year anyway.
This competition doesn't get any better does it, no matter who sponsors it or what small rule changes are made.
When we first played in it. It was a League One and Two teams (only added the Under 21s which is degrading for teams like us).
My idea: get the Championship teams (instead of the under 21s) in this Cup (making a proper EFL cup) and convert the League cup into a Premier League Cup (with the final played overseas).
Sign of a shite season when you hear fans say 'At least we have the Bristol Street Motors cup'. To be fair, Bromley game aside it's of the few times we've attempted to play football this season, so maybe Nath has all eyes on the BSM

Went up to Hartlepool think nearly 3 years ago now when we had the Quarter Final and our away support was no worse than any other northern league away midweek turnout. May even have been better.
Last season 42k went to the final. In 2023 79k were there.
If you get to the latter stages, you want to get to Wembley and win. The last 4 winners of this trophy were Peterborough, Bolton, Rotherham and Sunderland, all clubs who've been at our level in recent years, and they weren't too proud to win it.
I'd rather go to Wembley with Charlton for a game that actually meant something. Can't stand this competition!
I would imagine that every single football fan feels the same. But, back in the real world, play-offs* aside there are only three games a season at Wembley that "mean something" to EPL and EFL teams, and this is one of them.
*Play-offs only matter to the winners. Only an idiot would prefer that gamble to automatic promotion.
