We can’t sign anyone further until we trim the squad. I would assume both players will have contracts offered but we can’t continue until players like Fraser and Ness are off the books.

16th might be a good finish then.
i think that without moving on players and bolstering the squad further, our goals might not be achieved, but worse than last year which was the lowest of the low?2 -
People are allowed to be overly optimistic or pessimistic but it’s ridiculous on both parts .
each to their own but we all know I’m the one who calls it
right 75% of the time
completely wrong 26% of the time31 -
The squad is far too big. Outs are required first before the new ones are brought in.
The trouble there is who wants the ones Jones does not want. If they do go more than likely it will be at the end of August.McGrandles went early as a club was interested and wanted the deal done quick5 -

How many more players is Scott going to be allowed to sign that will leave before their contracts are up. Churn after churn after churn.
The more I read tonight the worse it gets.3 -

I think we will do better than last year and finish at least 15th and prove we are making great steps forward.
Looking forward to being the one who called it 1st and proved the most right fan on here.
My mate thinks we should get automatic promotion and that anything else is failure. Jones hasn’t made the changes he thinks he should have and that allowing May to leave was wrong. He is looking to be the most right fan.
Could we both be right?3 -

Fraser justified that wage to start with though, nearly getting double figures in goals. The issue was his form dropped off a cliff and now we can't get rid of him fast enough5

Good news. A really poor signing by us. Seemed a nice chap so good luck to him but there are many, many better L1 keepers around.
Maybe Burton would like to take AMB, Fraser, Edun and Gillesphey too...
But yet to see why he bought Berry and Docherty.1 -
Can someone ITK tell me exactly what Andy Scott does at the club now? Is he identifying players and then NJ agreeing to them? If so, I’m a little worried that the man who hired Appleton still has too much Influence on our recruitment. The jury is out on his past signings. His philosophy of signing players from the leagues above, thinking they will boss League 1 does seem flawed. It also seems to be continuing this window. I can’t remember exactly, but wasn’t Powell’s promotion squad built from the best League 1 & 2 players?6

Anyway...assume no rumours...not even a rumour of a rumour...🤔3

Please although Berry had nearly half a season of a Premiership relegation year, why are they good midfielders?5 -

We don't have a like for like replacement for Dobson and that is clearly by design, given the way Jones played him as a "number 8" and was obviously talking about his haring about the pitch making tackles as "the parts of his game that the fans like that I'm trying to coach out of him".
Will it work? Who knows but it will need pressing from the front and defenders that step up to help the midfield when needed.2 -

I didn’t follow any of the match yesterday because I was watching the U23s play. Only listened to Nathan Jones interview and just IMO, if that was a league performance I would be expecting Anderson & Kanu both to start the next game because they give the required levels of aggression that Jones likes.
Cant read to much into a friendly,
especially from the outside it looks difficult to confidently name the starting 11 v Wigan.

We have recently beaten a top flight Turkish side and drew with a decent palace side. Crying about a preseason loss is pathetic. Means nothing. Seem to remember us winning most if not all of our preseason games a couple of years ago and we were shit for the season.23

Surely not the big striker Matt Smith? He was last at Salford. Either of the midfield Matt Smiths would make more sense - think the Man City one is up in Scotland and the Arsenal one is now at Wigan.0
-
It’s our ex player Michael Smith. Big target man, plenty of experience. Powell brought him here as a youngster.https://x.com/real_swfc_media/status/1817487195076169894?s=46&t=A-w3Eq0EWWpjMxring904Q
Can’t see us signing another striker, especially with Dixon expected to join.2 -

Feels like an obvious Huddersfield signing.0 -

...Still to be confirmed one way or the other.0 -
I had forgotten about him. Thanks for reminding me
