Was a tough watch that interview they showed with Willey between innings.
Could see he is still desperate to play for England
As I say, I can't imagine what it was like for him turning up at Lord's for the squad get together to find out that he was the only one without a contract. No one would argue that he's been the best ever but he's never let us down and has always given his very best. Even in these circumstances.
I get the feeling that this team is being picked in a not too dissimilar way to the first team club captain that wants to play with his mates regardless of the form they are in. Is it any coincidence that the four players left out are the youngest in the squad?

Maybe but I thought I heard someone saying that Malan is unpopular as he only plays for himself ?

Your source is correct but it would be extremely difficult and obvious if he left out the top run scorer in this WC wouldn't it?

The source I think was on here , so Malan is probably Buttlers best mate !
Wouldn't be completely surprised to see SA get the runs though. I have MZ as favourites still obviously but if De Kok can get another big century who knows.
NZ got.a big score v Australia and lost.
They're playing Pakistan though, not SA. It will be a walk in the park for NZ.
The sooner Buttler gives up the captaincy the better not just because of his decision making but his batting has absolutely gone to pot. Out for a single off 7 balls
Notwithstanding the poor form of our batting in general, I think we are seeing that this wicket isn't a great one to bat on and that 286 is a very competitive score. Again though, the decision to field first has to be questioned.
I know I've said previously that we left out the four youngest players but I hadn't realised that Livingstone is 30 too. We must have the oldest team, at an average age of 34, in the tournament by far and possibly the oldest that has ever played in a WC.

One to you. Malan finds the man on the boundary off Cummins for 50 (64)
103-3 off 22.3
106-4 off 25.1
169-5 off 35.3
...and Bob has just left town.
