  • First over from Willey goes for a maiden. Second one from him goes for 18.
  • Woakes strikes - bowls Gill through the gate

    26-1 off 4
  • Kohli, comes down the wicket, tries to hit Willey over the top, gets nothing of the ball and is caught in the ring by Stokes at mid off. Kohli out for a nine ball duck.

    28-2 off 7
  • The old Chris Woakes is back. Forces Shreyas to pull a ball that is too quick on him and the ball tamely falls into the hands of Wood inside the ring at mid on

    40-3 off 11.5
  • Always good to see Kohli out for 0
  • 50-3 off 15
  • Sharma is given out LBW to a ball from Wood. He reviews it.
  • Unfortunately, the ball is missing all three stumps
  • India are playing like how they usually do once in the knockout phase. Just not tournament smart to win it, but can look the best team in the group stages.

  • 100-3 off 25
  • Break this partnership soon and we can keep India to about 250.
If they stay together much longer we won't.

I think we need to judge them after the match, not 20 overs in.

Can still see them getting close to 300 and winning comfortably.
  • Good bowling change, Willey returns to take Rahul's wicket
  • Willey comes back and KL Rahul gets suckered into giving hie wicket up by charging and hitting it straight up in the air. Caught by Bairstow for 39 (58)

    131-4 off 30.2
  • Sharma tries to hoick Rashid to the midwicket boundary but doesn't get hold of it and gets caught brilliantly by a diving Livingstone for 87 (101). The shocking outfield, that I have referred to previously as being a "disgrace", cause Livingstone's knee to get stuck. This could have been of Simon Jones proportions.

    164-5 off 36.5
  • 180-5 off 40

    Big 10 overs now
  • Rashid has Jadeja LBW. Reviewed straightaway by Jadeja (as he usually does anyway)
  • And it's "Umpire's Call"

    182-6 off 40.3
  • Had a sneaky feeling England would show up today

  • Shami, who doesn't average more than 12 in any form of the game, comes in at 8. That really isn't much of a recommendation for what follows him.

And he's out caught behind by Buttler off Wood

    183-7

Shame it's when everything is virtually "done and dusted" so far as finishing in the top four is conerned.

Bumrah, 7.30 in ODIs, comes in at 9. He might get a nose bleed doing so.
  • Its now or never, give me a contract, I won't let you down, I'll be yours tonight...
  • And yet Kuldeep Yadav, who has one FC ton and six 50s to his name, is next in.
  • One thing's for certain. Bumrah can't read the googly as the ball misses his off stump by a whisker.
  • So we now have this ludicrous situation with still six overs to go and still only 7 down, Suryakumar has to turn down singles in order that Bumrah doesn't get on strike.
  • And Bumrah has to turn down a single off the final bowl of the over. He's 0 off 12 now.

    195-7 off 45
  • Then six from Surya off Wood's first ball and a single when he hoped to run a two thus exposing Bumrah to the 95mph paceman. Bumrah clears his front leg and smashes Wood through mid on for a boundary.
