Be interesting who else goes in before LA bus change
Everyone appears to be the answer.
Depending on what he does in the interim, I wouldn't be surprised if Travis Head doesn't come in for him as and when he arrives from Australia. Labuschagne averages 37.66 in this WC but it's that S/R of 64.57, especially if Smith is at the other end, that is the negative. Alternatively, they might even drop Smith for Head if he continues to fail.
Interesting. If Australia win as expected today, tomorrow’s game against South Africa gives us the chance to be all square with four teams on two wins and two defeats. If we lose, it’s curtains.
Difficult to tee off when you first come in but a poor innings from Stoinis nevertheless. 21 off 24 including 12 dots in the final 10 overs isn't good enough with too much pre-meditation being the main issue.
Labuschagne, like Stoinis, kept setting himself for the normal pace ball from Rauf until he finally waited and managed to middle it - straight down midwickets throat
Australia finish on 367-9 which, at face value, looks a decent score. I can't help thinking that they will be a shade disappointed with that given that they were 259-0 off 33.4 overs and 108-9 off the final 16.2 overs
Don't quite understand the point of Stoinis in this setup. Surely there's better in the Aussie pool of talent than him? Hell I could see Michael Neser doing that role better.
Stoinis is what I would call a "bowling machine" batsman
He's so crap, such a thick lunk. Hate watching him
When all the stars align he can be very destructive. All the best batsmen pre-meditate to a degree but they usually have a couple of alternatives in that respect and he just seems to set himself for what is, invariably, the wrong ball. Hence my comment about him being a "bowling machine" batsman. If he knows what's coming he's brilliant!

It is being that batting all rounder and he has replaced Green in that respect. Nesser is more a bowling all rounder but, that said, he's been in unbelievable form with the bat both here and in Australian domestic cricket scoring 675 in his last 8 innings. Trouble is, sitting in the middle of those scores, is 0 and 3 for Australia.
Should Sri Lanka beat the Netherlands and England beat South Africa then the top two sides, India and New Zealand, will have a maximum 8 points and the other 8 sides will be separated by just 2 points.

259-1 off 33.4
321-4 off 42.2
360-7 off 48.3
363-9 off 49.2
168 required off the last 20 overs
Quite how they get Stokes into the team in that situation?
