What this shows is we are looking at signing the top end talent. Stockley and Akin were here last year so that didn’t feel particularly ground-breaking, albeit they are great signings. Clare and Dobson are hard working but not spectacular. Kirk is top end. Will be an interesting few weeks hopefully.
Thought he was the new Ronaldo at the beginning of the last season, then his partner on the left broke his leg and the overlapping fullback was transferred to Blackburn. Kirk didn’t really shine after this.
And half the fans will hate him as he hates challenging for the ball, he will lose (not even contest) 70/30 balls in his favour.
I still loved him though
another negative ninny
Talking of which has Golfie heard the good news yet 😉.
looks to have good composure around the box, pacey, tall, can finish, can assist and fits perfectly into NA's front 3 scenario with 2 playing off of Stockley - almost feels like the plan is coming together

Almost.

Agree with most of that mate apart from the CB tbh I would be happy with Deji being back up and rotating with Innis. Young I know but I really do think he can step up
This line was probably the most exciting to me: "Kirk has played over 180 first team games for Crewe Alexandra, with over 150 starts. He has been almost ever present in the last couple of seasons, rarely rotating, resting or leaving a game early"
The highlight of that article for me was learning he played 4,000 minutes last season and was rarely even rested. This is exactly the type of player we should be signing: Extremely fit, rarely injured and lasts 90 minutes... i.e not Johnny Williams-types. Onwards and upwards.

Superb article with an impressive amount of detail. The part below is good to read.
“Jayden Stockley should be licking his lips. Kirk thrives when he has a physical focal point up front to work off; in build-up play, counter attacks, and from crosses. Kirk -> Stockley is an assister and scorer pairing that I would expect to tear up League One in the second half of the season, once Kirk has settled.”
I am not Golfie BUT, Interesting but rather confusing ? Can disappear for an hour ? So for 30 minutes he must be mustard ? Lightweight in the tackle ? Plus and minus points reading that article from a railwayman fan. Praises him and it does explain why Championship clubs hadn't already swooped for him with some criticism as well.
Not sure how DJ and Kirk play at the same time personally as neither are great when they don't have the ball according to that piece on our Charlie. A front 3 of Washington, Stockley and Kirk where Charlie switches side would be good as CK can play on both sides as well as a number 10 which gives versatility. Morgan needs players moving so will help him develop and give some smooth passes other than the Hollywood passing he tries at times.
If I'm allowed to say for the 50th time if Kirk coming into this side helps Washington play closer to Jayden then it will be a good thing, my problem is I'm not sure Nigel Adkins can see that. #stockleyneedsapartner
Its nice to see the comments on their twitter account - No one seems bitter about the move
This is Crewe. It's their model and it's what they have always done. Their fans would be weirded out if good young players DIDN'T leave after a few seasons

If that Range Rover was his, he arrived a bit too late to have one of our spares as a replacement.

So Stockley will either have to go on his hands and knees to score or learn to kick...

You need to be popping out a lot more often until the transfer window closes.
Probably. More likely than not in the squad at all.
More to the point, their coffers would be empty.
