Sad reality of football. Was thinking about Everton's potential team had they been able to keep hold of the likes of stones and lukaku they would be knocking on top 6 door.
Gutting but the reality of it unfortunately. Hopefully we get sell on clauses and maybe loan arrangements with the buying club for other players in their squad.

Trouble is Rodders sell on clauses don't make a difference with our benefactor, the money just goes one way with a just pittance coming back the other.
Konsa was in good form against Fleetwood - can we improve the team if he goes ?
He's a good young player with pace and technical ability. Still a hit inconsistent but I think he was very good in his two starts this season. If he left, because he covers so many positions, I think we'd need to bring in at least two just to make of for his loss.
Would rather we kept him. Obviously a lot will depend on the next few weeks while Pearce is out but I think he's an excellent player at this level and playing regularly for us will be better for him than playing in the U23 Premier League.
I think staying with us would hold back his development. Wherever he goes in the PL he's going to get loaned to a higher level of football than we can offer him at present. He'll also quadruple his wages at least. I can't think of one single reason why he would stay.
if roland sacked karl i do think a hell of a lot of fans would snap.
I think 45% of season ticket holders from two seasons ago have already snapped. On the other side of the fence a lot of people with their heads up their arses will say " Oh we've always been a selling club, good old Roland will dig another trench now at the training ground"
If Lookman went for 'infrastructure reasons' as opposed to covering losses, anybody know anything about the development and cost of such infrastructure since then?
Even on the club's own figures, the total spend on phases one, two and three of the works is £4.2m, of which £1.8m is on facilities for CACT and Footscray Rugby Club. The guaranteed element of the fee for Lookman was apparently £8m, again according to the club (but not on the record AFAIK).
If the Lookman money is committed towards phase four, it's surprising the club still can't tell us when it is happening.
In the real world, it obviously went to cover operating losses, including towards the mad expenditure on inadequate players in 2014, 2015 and 2016.
If a decision to sell Konsa in January is based on RD realising that a reluctant selling club can get a better return then, I wonder whether a change in ownership would mean a different decision ?
Back in Feb he reckoned he'd go in the summer. His message recently about this is to the owner, saying Lookman was sold for infrastructure but any more sales of young talent needs to be replaced.
I think he'll be sold in Jan if someone comes up with the money they want.

Certainly a fair point on him increasing his wages immensely. Can't and won't begrudge him that should the time come.
As far as him being loaned to a higher standard of football I'd say maybe. He could be playing for a Championship side though I don't know that he'd be a regular starter anywhere. Under other managers I'd say he's not learning anything on the training ground but Robinson does have a good track record of developing youngsters.
This one is a lot harder for me than Lookman was last year. By the time he went I felt as though Lookman had little-to-nothing left to learn with us as we were pretty shit that he couldn't learn elsewhere. It was to the point where he was just learning how to get doubled up and kicked up in the air by League One defenders. But I think with Konsa there is still more to learn about the physical side of the game, about reading the game, and about going forward from right back or central midfield to make the most of his unquestionable talent.
If we go up Konsa is the kind of player we will need.
That’s the point. He is not yet premiership quality but could probably play in the championship. Why not keep him for an extra six months and let him play in the championship with us.
Perversely the Lookman situation could work in our favour as it shows sometimes players just arent ready for the step up yet

Probably because Ezri wants to go.
Wouldn't blame him, probably the main reason to stay is for regular first team football. He hasn't had that so far this season (although it looks like he'll probably get a run in the team now).

It's all about (insert next big thing in the youth teams name here) now!
