There you go Roland, I'm a qualified coach and have demonstrated some knowledge, now where is my job offer..?
What you have illustrated is League One standard players, who make mistakes. If they were better players, they'd be earning more money at a higher level.
It also illustrates weaknesses that the manager and the coaching staff should be eradicating in training, by working on better organisation. However, is a League One standard manager and coach capable of doing so? If they were better coaches, they would be earning more money at a higher level.
So we have League One standard players managed by League One standard coaches. If you want to get out of this League, you need to sign Championship standard players, and have a Championship standard manager, who understands what's required. Powell turned out to be of that standard, as did his signings in Stephens, Kermorgant, Morrison, Wiggins, Hamer, BWP, Cort, and others, alongside Solly who was already here.
Unless we go back to that template, we ain't going anywhere. The latest manager can talk himself up as much as he likes and try to heal the club, but we ain't going anywhere by selling our better players and replacing them with loans.
We are treading water as a club, with an owner telling us it's not about results, it's about the social atmosphere. Winning and losing is irrelevant.
Calm down mate, I made a tongue in cheek comment about Roland giving me a job considering his track record and that you clearly don't need experience of being in the footballing world to work for the club right now, even if I am a qualified coach...
Yes it does illustrate that we have weaknesses and that we are a League One club. But I have seen Sunday league player's able to read the game and have better positioning than that evaluation of mine showed. If you read my post previously, I said, "I hope this gets picked up on and analysed, because it's these simple things that happen so often that clearly cost us points." A low qualified coach or performance analyst should be able to pick up the points I analysed, if they can't, they shouldn't really be involved in football, especially one's involved at a professional club.
You don't need to bring everything down to the way the club is run. Yes, it is a joke and I am an active protestor. But that wasn't the points I was making. Many people on this thread had said they don't know who was at fault for the equaliser. So I broke down the play, scene by scene, to show exactly what happened to provide those with the answers. @JamesSeed appreciated that.
It does show that we have weaknesses, as does every side, but I made the point of saying I hope it gets picked up on and therefore, gets worked on in training. Although, there won't be much training opportunities over the next few weeks as we are playing twice a week, most sessions will be things like analysis and recovery sessions for the boys who played the game before.
There's just no need to bring Powell and our promotion winning side into it as that's totally irrelevant when I was going through the goal we conceded yesterday. Maybe the player's we had before didn't make those same mistakes the amount of times we have seen it recently and that was because of them being so well organised. But it still doesn't have anything to do with the fact of me going through, piece by piece of the goal yesterday.
You have to try to win these games 3-0 - I don't think we played backs to the wall but there is a mentality in some of the players that is frustrating - that and we are not good at getting the second. Novak is a striker and should score to make it 2-0 then it is game over. Not digging out Novak, because it could quite easily be somebody else, but it is basically telling us why we can't go on the run of wins we need to. The team isn't a million miles away in the context of this division - it could easily be in the top few places in terms of losing fewest games, but it lacks something.
I don't think it is fair to take that out on Robinson, because I think he knows what is needed and is trying to find it. I worry that he won't get the backing in the summer to do the job. Maybe he can still find a way with the squad as it is this season, they have to improve quickly though in those key areas. We need a run of wins so badly and quickly.
The game in hand over Millwall disappears on Saturday, we will need to win both on Tuesday and Saturday and them to lose on Tuesday (Home to Port Vale) to draw level on points (although we have a better goal difference). We have played the same number of games as Rochdale if fact after our game with Oxford on the 18th they will have a game in hand over us.
For such a respected analyst of the game I'm extremely surprised Tutt-Tutt has stooped to reductively calling some of our players 'League One players' and our manager a 'League One manager', as if there's no way a good young player or manager can adapt to a higher league. And look at the players who switched off for the goal: Tex, Bauer, Magennis, Chicksen. All perfectly capable of looking good in the Championship. I don't think our squad or our manager are the problem right now. We just need a surge of confidence and for our window signings to stop injuring themselves or incurring suspensions. And a big effort from our fans.
You win three games on the spin and things start to look rosier. My question is - can we win three games on the spin let alone go on a stella run from now until the end of the season. On paper we have some players that should be too good for this level. It is about they showed it and we started thrashing a few teams. We need to find a way to score goals more freely. This is a matter of urgency.

Some of them are, supposedly. Tex on 12k PW according to very well placed sources.

We're playing Rochdale on the 18th... But they are not playing on the 21st, when we do play Oxford.

You must be mistaken Sage, because it was bad luck.
But seriously, I agree with your analysis, although to try and simplify matters, I think Chicksen was most at fault.
If Chicksen was more alert he would never had let the goalscorer run through unchallenged. If he'd gone alongside him, he could have done enough to block the shot/force him away from goal etc.
I have been a strong critic of Fox defensively, but I have to say our left back performances have certainly been no better and arguably worse, since he's gone.

I don't think Bauer is a championship standard player, and I don't know if Magennis could be. I really like Magennis but how do we know he's capable of doing it in the championship.
I think the squad isn't good enough imo. I've gone through this team time and time again, player for player and I don't see it.
We have some talented players, but if we were good enough we'd be showing it right now.
The fans are there doing their bit leuth. We're not set up as a club to go up. Players/fans/management will only bring a short term placebo effect whilst the owners remain
I know it's fascinating discussing the probable points tallies teams can reach - and assuming/hoping certain teams have a slip up . . . but it all comes down to scoring goals which win matches and - hopefully - gain a club promotion. Therein lies the rub; we just don't have a striking force to score the goals required to at least reach the play-offs. There is an outside chance that Josh and TW may strike up a prolific partnership but I wouldn't hold my breath. The two chances that fell to Novak yesterday - especially the second one - illustrate my point. We should have run out comfortable winners but as per usual we were left with just a point. If we had converted just a few of the draws this season we would be talking about real promotion chances as opposed to scraping into the play-offs.
Shite performance Shite result Shite season And yes i was there. This club is dying on it's feet, until we get new owners weare destined to be a league one joke of a club Fuck of Roland
I wonder if Essex Al shares your view of today, @blackpool72 ...
TBH, listening to the commentary, it sounded on the whole as though we had a lot of possession, scorned a couple of very good opportunities to score and paid the price.
Although, in the 2nd half the Dons appeared to come out with a vengeance and continued in that vein for much of the 45 and we didn't do enough to deserve all 3 points.
So, what's new ?
Not quite sure why you felt the need to mention me in your post?
I might not agree with most things on here, but when it comes to the team, if they are shite, I'm quite happy to say so!
I haven't made any comment because I was working yesterday and therefore couldn't make the game, but it's very interesting to see how quickly people on here are turning on KR already!

Bauer played age group football for Germany up to U20 and is only 24, young for a defender. Magennis often starts for NI who are ranked 32 in the world and gets in front of Lafferty, Grigg and Washington - all Championship strikers.
Was in the home end - can't remember watching two teams that bloody bad - Christ it was Sunday league
Aerial bombardment by Wimbledon. Wouldn't pay to watch that week in week out.
Novak missed an open goal and failed to lob the keeper in the first half. Watt had a screamer well saved. We should have gone two up. Sorry, but Novak isn't really good enough. Josh needs another game.
@se9addick Hold on, Wimbledon have apologised and said action will be taken against the groundsman.
He brought on Botaka and Mavididi in attempt to stop an all out attack by Wimbledon. Both provided a threat, with their pace. Watt had an excellent game, but was tiring. Not sure about Holmes. Would have left him on. Gutted.
@JamesSeed had they made that statement before I'd made my comments ? If so then I should have included it (I genuinely didn't know they had issued a statement on their groundsmans behaviour).
Perhaps you shouldn't slag off the manager without knowing the facts then!
If what I have been told was said to KR about his wife is true then the grounds man deserved a very big slap!
DaSilva looks like one of those RD signings where the manager doesn't actually want him. It kind of smacks of "here you go" when we sold Lookman, but surely if Robinson wanted him he would be playing him now.
Just watched the one minute of Sky "highlights", and the sending off of Elliot is a joke decision.
Joke in what way?
Didnt see his goal as didnt see most things, but one thing i did see as it was parallel to me, was when he took tex out with his elbow ref bottle as usual.... They dont seem to bottle though when its our players though.
So his not being sent off for the elbow is a joke, but then what about his being sent off for two valid yellows is a joke?

Wait until charlton start winning regularly, they'll hate his guts then.

But promotion winning teams hang on to one nil leads more often than not.
Beat a recently revived Oldham and we're back in it, gap closed a little and games in hand.

I thought your analysis was excellent and informative just as I do tutt-tutts.
As it happens I think Robinson agrees with you.
He's said it wasn't our fitness or style of play but a lapse of concentration that cost us the goal.
There's a wider issue of if we're two up the goal doesn't matter but he's saying the same as you imho
