So is the Trust aim still to try and get on board with Duchatalet and friend Murray, and get them to change their strategy?
Everyone has to try everything. IF KM/RD respond then good - maybe. If not, the Trust letter can be used to prove that KM/RD still have no interest in talking WITH fans. A good tactic, I think.
Very strange.
Why ?
Because only answer is new owners. CARD want it and most Trust members want it but Trust Board still want dialogue. Think it is divisive.
I just don't believe there can be any constructive dialogue where Katrien Miere is involved. If it is to take place it has to be direct to RD and he obviously won't sanction that whilst KM is in place. The prime objective therefore must be to remove this incompetent and discredited CEO from office. If Charlton is to be run as a business then surely no major shareholder or owner would countenance the kind of performance we have witnessed from Miere - it is staggeringly bad and damaging not only to the club but to RDs increasingly flawed reputation. Is he simply unable to grasp the enormity of his error in appointing Miere? He seems eventually to have accepted mistakes made on the managerial and playing side but appears to turn a blind eye to someone who is in effect dismantling his interest by her gross ineptitude and arrogant belief that she has transferable skills (from the Legal profession) which enable her to make a success in the running of a Championship Football Club. The time for reasoning certainly with Miere is over. She should go and go now back to Competition Law and the career there where she can still prosper rather than sink into the mire (no pun intended) of her own making dragging this Club with it. If he had any sense RD (with Murray's approval ) should pull the plug on this off-message and counter-productive CEO before she does yet more damage as she surely will. No, I don't see the point of talking to her whilst she is at the helm as CEO - she must resign or be pushed and the sooner the better.
PS I was meant to be working this afternoon but I'm getting so angry about the situation that instead I wrote the above and this perhaps is what KM doesn't get about her critics - I don't leave the Valley after the 'Customer Experience' of watching the game - Charlton Athletic has been part of my life for over 50 years - its family - and you KM are destroying it - so don't tell me KM that I should be a dispassionate customer..........................
I can't imagine Rolo paying the slightest attention to anything a football fan has to say, especially one who would be telling him that he made a huge blunder in his most major appointment, that of his CEO, whose fantastic work he recently praised. Dialogue with the club is a dead parrot.
I would humbly suggest that there is some lovely specific detail in a Grapevine post (well all of them actually) that Steve might like to use as a guide for any discussion.
Grapevine had a very good post (two actually) on here on February 6th after the fans forum video. Lovely and specific, lovely and detailed.
There's nothing lost by "offering" dialogue to maintain the high ground. No one wants meaningless dialogue which is what we have had and I don't see anything from the Trust Board that says that's what they want.
If RD and KM suddenly had an about turn and offered a no holds barred quizzitorial are you saying there's no value in taking the offer up?

Chill out.
Is Roland aware that this "offer" is being made in order to maintain the high ground? I'm confused as to whether this is a serious attempt at dialogue or just a gesture (hence the italics). Has there been a single occurence to indicate that RD & KM will suddenly do an about turn? Our board all lack integrity and seem to have nothing but contempt for fans so what makes you think this could change? I'm interested.

Almost by definition, any offer of dialogue made to the regime (no matter how futile we may all deem the effort) has to be serious.
Without wishing to be unfair to anyone, the future of our club is too important for a dick waving competition.
None of us expect the regime to reciprocate, because that's how they are, but we have to be ready nonetheless.

I don't think there's any problem in the Trust reminding Roland that if he wants to speak to supporters there is an outlet. That doesn't mean the protests don't continue, that doesn't mean we can't escalate them, that doesn't mean he'll say anything worthwhile (if he takes up the offer at all) but it's there.
Will he take up the offer ? Of course he won't. Can we say we've tried everything conceivable ? Of course we can.

So we won't be having one at the next protest?
Not if the weather is as cold as they are forecasting, no....

Their failure to respond to an invitation to talk just continues to show their incompetence.

" A fork might have three prongs but it is still a fork"
And fork in hell are still the words that spring to mind whenever I remember that the big nosed incompetent lawyer is still our CEO. Or words to that effect.

There might be a number of disqualifications.
There's none so blind as those who will not see.
