Henderson " Players and fans need to stick together "

Does this mean that he thinks the players should be in the West Stand at 14.30. From my point of view I want everyone who supports or works for Duchatelet to know how pissed off I am with the way this club is being run.
I want to see all Charlton supporters outside the West Stand tomorrow, not for personal gain but for their love of the club. No one person or organisation is responsible for tomorrow but a lot of different supporters via social media asking fellow supporters to act now. The appointment of KF being the final straw.
Everyone who attends is responsible for their own actions and I think it will be vocal but peacefull. Anyone who has a ticket for tomorrows game has a right to be in the West Stand car park before the game and I hope the Police or Stewards do nothing to prevent this. The most important thing for me tomorrow apart from getting our message across via the media and KM is Roland we have had enough. Also that as few people as possible spend money inside the ground or the shop. Good luck to Henderson and the boys and I hope we win but remember Stephen if we are relegated you and most of our squad will be gone at the end of the season but we won't. There will be no sticking together if you were to be offered a better deal elsewhere so stick to playing football.

  • How can Henderson be offered a better deal when he's under Contract with the club, if we reject offers bar selling Gudmundsson and Cousins, the players will have no choice to remain.

The one time players have been able to walk away was when we were relegated from the Premier League and that was because they had clauses in their Contracts which allowed them to do so!!

Sorry FA do you think that Henderson will be with us next season if we go down. His agent will see to it that he moves on and when did being under contract mean anything

Especially now he is probably over his shoulder injury problems

If we go down then I won't want any of them anyway.

Henderson has had two very serious injuries in as many seasons, I'm not sure there will be a queue around the block for him.

    We took him
  • I too like Henderson and I see where he's coming from/what he's been out up to say (delete according to degree of cynicism). But the players are culpable here too. When I see people like TWatt and JBG on fat salaries and with bags of talent clearly not giving a flying f@@k then I'm sorry but they will be on the receiving end.
  • Henderson seems to be playing the "party" line. He's an OK goalkeeper who will be gone when it suits him. We have been supporting Charlton for varying years, our investment is greater ( take note RD and KM).
It cannot be denied that there are some very poor playing performances but the mismanagement is intentional. Poor, unsuitable players, inadequate managers and not being( apparently) totally honest with fans are actions by management- that is unacceptable to fans.
Protest- make it matter but do nothing to give the moral ground back to RD and KM.

  • Probably best along the goal line.
  • All this talk of if we go down. When we go down would be more accurate.
The players are part of the problem, Charlton is a temporary job to them and our current predicament will mean nothing to them once they have moved on. Let's be honest quite a few of them wouldn't be playing at this level if it weren't for the current mob.
  • A lot of time for Henderson but deep suspicion he's being used here to put across the party line ahead of a match where the management fear real unrest. The fans are behind the players but equally if the players (Henderson not included here) are woeful and seemingly not giving their all, then they will get grief.
  • The players sort of give a chite about us, but they give more of a chite about their careers.
Give us something to rally round we will respond.

Yep two weeks ago it was Jackson, last week it was Mak, this week it's Henderson. Reckon they'll wheel out Cousins to deliver the "we're all in it together" speech next time ?
  • Would have preferred:
"Henderson - Back Four Needs To Stick Together", headline.
  • As with most modern players ... they will be out of here before long, especially when we are relegated, and will be professing loyalty and passion for another club. And we, the fans, will be left to try to pick up the pieces.
  • Not wanting to dig out Hendo too much - he's one of the few bits of quality we possess after all, but while he can move to another club for us it's a life sentence.

  • Henderson is dead right .. whether he moves on in the future is irrelevant, it's the here and now he's talking about .. I've read too many posts on here stating that 'it'd be better if we went down' .. 'everyone's in it for their own interests' etc. etc. .. what a load of old bollocks .. if the team is disunited and the 'fans' are spitting and hurling abuse at the players and owners we are FUCKED, disunity is certain to destroy more than it builds .. anyone who can't see that needs therapy .. COME ON YOU ADDICKS .. Players and fans together are needed to get us out of this mess
  • I thought the crowd were fantastic yesterday and the team responded as such, and vice versa! Where has the confidence of that team been hiding the last few weeks? Better formation, aggression and passing: atmosphere much improved and crowd happy!
Not sure it was Hendo's rallying cry but who cares if it worked.
  • I agree that the Players and fans should stick together, but maybe the message behind this is 'against the current management'. The players cannot be seen to criticise their employers, but perhaps the demonstration outside the West stand and the chants of 'Jason Euell's Red Army' inspired the team to appreciate that fan's action gives hope of changing the view of the current management. Ok, the team performed well yesterday against a Wednesday side who probably thought they only had to turn up, and I was delighted to be there to see the win. However, we should not allow this to diffuse the anger that we have all felt against RD/KM and their appointment of Fraeye.
As has been said in an other thread 'we should not let them off the hook'!
